I love the Tiger II.

Elite, it can snipe and brawl in equal measure, and anything in between. My favorite heavy tank so far!

Ok. All you people are saying how insanely awesome the KT is, but I just can't seem to get the hang of it. Maybe it's because I've only gotten like 10 games with it, and it's mostly stock, but I can't seem to do anything with it. Each of my games usually ends with me being blown to bits without a single kill to my name and then I I've to pay the 12000 credit repair cost. I've lost a lot of money in this thing. I've also only won like 2 games in it.
So, does it get better with the turret? Failing that, anyone have any tips?

It is a grind until you get the new track and turret.  I am 20 losses under 0.500 after 450 battles, but best kills to battle ratio, highest hit percentage, second best battle survival percentage, a ton of Sniper awards, most consecutive hits in a row, highest exp/battle average, highest exp achieved in a game.  It did not start out that way (actually had more wins then losses, but got clobbered a lot).  The 8.8 71 is a fast reload with good penetration.  The 10.5 68 is plum nasty and tears up all the HT VIII's, but the rounds cost over 1000 credits and just kills your credit income with this tank (rounds for the 8.8 71 are about 250 credits).

Tiger II is awesome! I'm going up all 3 heavy lines I'm up to t-34/ IS-4/ and just got my Tiger II. The Tiger II is by far one of the best tanks in the game. I used free EXP. to get the tracks/ turret/ and second gun (just unlocked final gun it only took 30 games to get the 46k exp.) I love this tank. This has always been one of my most feared tanks now i now why. This is well worth the grind and now im looking forward to unlocking the E-75, But no hurries because this is so much fun.   :Smile_honoring:
note: equipment, vent/ rammer/ vertical stabilizer.  consumables, small med/ small repair/ gold fire extinguisher.   :Smile_honoring:

Tiger II is a great tank. Even the long 88 is a very good gun for Tiger II. Even if the long 88 was the only gun the Tiger II carried it would still be a fine tank. Of course the long 105 is better but the rate of fire and high penetration of the 88L71 is quite refreshing.

Great write-up. By far the most fun I had in this game was in the Tiger II.

I am with bobbobman on this...

win % is about 36-38. Hit % is 70 or better, I have experimented with the short 105 and 88, have the upgraded turret and tracks, middle engine, and I still can't get this tank to perform. I treat it like a heavier armored TigerI. I love my Ferdinand and its great against others within its tier bracket, but the Tiger II just...feels cursed. :(

I never seem to get a map where I can stand off and snipe.

Dunno...when I come up on an E75 I get jealous, and when he is on the other side I get worried. :(   SO my plan is just to grind it out and hope like hell the E75 treats me a bit better...

Loving my Tiger II.

Bought a KV-5 to earn credits to pay for my Tiger II habit.  I have all the upgrades except the guns on the Tiger. . . now I'm just working on getting the xp for those.  Not even sure if I'll go to the E75.

By far my favorite tank so far, once its upgraded.  lol

Biggest problem I have is that the first hit I take during a match (a very large percentage of the time) takes out my gun.  Seriously wtf.  Is the gun mantle made of cardboard?  Anyone know of there are plans to fix this?

See you on the field.

They fixed the mantle issue a couple patches ago, but the gun itself is still vunerable to being damaged. Just like any other tank, a lucky shot or HE shot or splash could have tagged your gun and usually it's arty shells that give you most of the module damage.

An absolute blast with the binocs on the right maps, whacking opponents from 500+ meters, and watching them rotate their turrets around trying to figure out who just popped them. Only real problem I've had is trying to penetrate T'7s-10's with the stock ammo, with Premium ammo that problem disappears, but of course those shells cost $$$$.

Great write up, but I'm disappointed with the German line overall, considering how great it did historically. About KT itself, I find it inferior in battle compared to the IS line and the T32. I lose most duels, and I find it disappointing how *not* domineering it is. I'm not that bad of a player either. Anyway seems German tanks are bound to snipe, but in close range they simply suck.

Fully upgraded, the KT can go head to head with the IS-3 and the T32,  hell it can even go up against a T34.  If you are using the 88 or short 105 you will bounce a ton of shots off tier 8 heavies.  Once you get the long 105 and the upgraded turret the tank comes into its own and IMO is the best tier 8.

What gun are you using? The long 105 gun has more than enough penetration to damage tanks up to tier 9. You just need to know where to find the weak spots of tanks since the long 105 is one of the most accurate guns in the whole game.

I had no problems penetrating with the short 105, skipped the 88, long 105 is awesome.

I had a ruff start with the KT, I had both engines and radio already researched so I thought I would mount the short 10.5 first instead of tracks and turret. I couldn't seem to win a game no matter what. I had somehting like a 35% win rate in the first 20 battles, no matter how well I did I would loose. It made the grind slow for exp and I didn't love the KT compared to my Tiger I. Now that I have the tracks and have played some more I'm enjoying the tank even without the upgraded turret or long 10.5cm. It gets nice matchups and can be effective. I can't wait to get the long 10.5cm and turret to really see what it can do. It takes some time but it's a great tank.

UPDATE:

I know have the turret upgrade which is a very nice upgrade. I didn't think it would be as important as it turns out to be. I still have the short 10.5cm with about 20K to go for the long 10.5cm. Overall the tank is solid all around. I can see how the extra penetration is going to really make this tank great. Just need to keep going.

I luv the king tiger. Elited it is the most fun of any tanks. Well the e75 is fun too. I just finished the is4 and now that I have the t28 alomoost done I will turn to the US heavies , I just dread the grind through t1 and m6.   :Smile-playing:
Tiger II always makes money and usually very good xp. 5 - 900 on losses and 1-2.2k for wins. It will always be in my garage. ;)

the king tiger is by far my favorite tank to drive. fully upgraded it literaly prints sniper badges. only thing that i can think of honestly that this tank doesant do well is have a good top speed. then agian i have driven slower tanks lol. with the 105 long its a deadly beast from witch little in the game can escape. The only tanks that give me any problems at all are the t95 and maus. even then if i can get behind the t95 its all over. overall like i said this thing is pure awsome sause. defenatly worth the grind threw the tiger I.

Finally mounted the long 10.5cm and played a few games. It is a great gun though I have found it's better accuracey rating seems to be a myth. More games will tell but I missed three shots in a row in my first game with it and said WTF?!? They were all "normal" shots I would hit or at least 2 of 3 with. I had a few other shots either dissapear or miss as well in the next game that made me wonder about it's actuall accuracey. Regardless of that (it's likely in my head) the extra penetration is real! I was able to penetrate an IS-4 from the front, a VK4502 and a E-75 along with several others that normally give me problems (i.e. the bouncy IS-3 wedge). I finally can mix it up with tier 8 and 9 tanks because my shots actually penetrate consistantly. The KT is just solid all around tank now.
