I use Telstra Broadband from Melbourne Australia. The last week up until around 8pm Aussie time my ping is usually around 160ms which is pretty good on West Server. On East server it is around 230ms. After 8pm for about the last week it jumps by 100ms to 260ms and 330ms for East Server. I thought it was my internet provider or connection so did some testing. I logged into SEA Asian server and ping is steady around 95-100ms anytime of the day. It leads me to believe something is wrong from the US end on the NA server after a certain time.

Are there large clan war games on at this time?

What could cause an issue like this?

Given the SEA connection is stable and always the same what could it be?

Really like to know if anyone else is experiencing issues on the NA servers at certain times.

I don't really want to run ping plotters and stuff like that if other players having the same issue.

Last few days I have gone from 39 during the day to 150+ later in the night in east. Location central USA.  West has had better ping of around 100 overnight and only a little better during daytime hours.

Internet to and in the US in general is pretty crappy except for those in the big cities so you are not alone. Can pretty much sit there and watch it go from 90ms to 300 then down to 150 or so only for it to sky rocket past 600 on to having no connection at all. At my college it can be pretty bad to being outright retarded because the state of Texas is too cheap to add another connection for the cloud service (webadviser and soon to be moodle/blackboard) for all the state colleges and to put the cherry on top it is all going through just a single router. A good day is bouncing anywhere from 25 ms to 600 and a bad day it is often up to 4k! :amazed:

I use Telstra broadband (ADLS2+) and I am based near Rockingham in WA.

Ping to West always starts around 220 and East 290.

Sure wish something could be done about the ping, which is my number 1 issue in the game.

I have NBN in Toowoomba and the last few days have not only been slow (usually 200 - 220ms, now 350+ ms) but with constant disconnections and spikes.

Seems ok today.

I rang Telstra but they couldn't check my connection as they had a systems 'issue'. SE Asia server was normal at 150ms.

I live 7 hours north of Toronto and i find the ping on the NA bad not to bad during the day but when more people come on it gets worse. But i also play on the EU server and never have any problems with ping its better most of the time? One of those strange things i guess

Ok so it seems a common thread here. There is definately something going on a certain times of the day. I would have thought 8pm Australian time wouldnt be a popular time on the US West coast around 1am in the morning. I too posted a complaint to Telstra and was told that given conenction to SEA is ok regardless of time than it must be something from the US end. Anyway I may have to spend more time on the SEA server unless they can sort the issues out. I have only been playing about 4-5 years without problems so you can understand my frustration.

World of Tanks is great game, but as the fastest car cannot run without good fuel, this great game cannot be played with poor servers and this issues needs to be addressed NOW on your websites and developers need to tell the W.o.T community what they are doing to fix this problem.

I am unable since 6:30MTN able to log into either NA servers, yes this is a issue that is on going. Sure glad that my hard earn money that Ive spent on this game is going down the toilet. Maybe i will try on the SEA servers.

I'm having the exact same problem, and from what I can tell it's either a massive routing issue or we're connecting to the wrong place. If you run a tracert to the West server using the IP from the wiki everything looks normal up to Hong Kong. Then instead of going East across the Pacific to the West coast server it's instead heading across to Europe. The last two jumps before the server are in the Netherlands and Germany and the strange thing is there's no connecting jumps between Germany and the server that's in the USA(???). In fact, according to the Wargaming Wiki (http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Servers) one of the EU servers is based in Germany, so from what I can tell it appears we're connecting to EU1 and not US West. Some kind of mess up with the roaming feature? Here's the last few jumps from my tracert in table form which I checked using ipchecking.com.

Ping IP Location (Using an IP checking site)
173ms 202.40.149.114 Hong Kong
174ms 78.152.48.241 Netherlands
350ms 78.152.53.154 Netherlands
354ms 92.223.120.163 Germany
349ms 162.213.61.57 Unknown

It's been happening intermittently for the past few days and it's immediately noticeable because instead of getting 180 to West I'm getting 350+ ping, and the tracert ping is identical to my in-game ping tracker. Unlike on previous days where it was happening around peak time in Australia, it's now happening in the middle of the day when you would expect lower local traffic, so its probably hasn't got anything to do with Telstra. This is really frustrating as the game is pretty unplayable at this level of ping, and I've been unable to play my account the vast majority of the past few days - with premium time burning away.

For the last week, my ping has been around 370-390. im based in Adelaide S.A and on Telstra NBN. It has become impossible to have a decent game after around 6pm every night. WG needs o fix this issue. My WoWS plays just fine, maybe they need to have 1 server for NA, instead  of 2 ?

Still getting routed to Europe and it hasn't let up since I last posted, I have a ticket in to support but no response as of yet. I suggest anyone with the same problem go to the pinned connection issues thread, gather what they ask for, and send in your own ticket as well. After doing a little bit of digging I found another Aussie's post from back in 2013 where he was experiencing the same issue. While there was no resolution mentioned, it did help me understand a little in layman's terms where and why are packets are going. What's frustrating to me is that I've been playing on this connection with this ISP for years and never had a problem like this, and now both myself and a friend who lives in the next suburb over (also with Telstra) basically can't play at all due to a doubling in latency. I've even taken the initiative and tried a well known gaming ping reduction program, but setting the tunnel to various locations both in the US and Europe hasn't resulted in any meaningful reduction in ping or change in routing.

NA player here. Have noticed ping and latency issues over the last 3 days. 60ms jumps to 350ms+ and stopped responding for about 3 secs, then goes back to normal.

Speed tests show no problems on my side, despite running them while watching my ping spike in garage.

All leads point to server issues.
