I'm sick and tired of playing my tier 4-6 tanks and getting one shotted by these tanks, and even if I survive the shot I can't pen its armor. It seriously needs an armor nerf. Compared to the KV-2 the O-I has better gun handling and way better armor. What's super frustrating is when you have a 3 O-I platoon that's top tier and you're trying to fight them. It really needs a nerf. What does everyone else think?

70mm side armor, most tier 4s have 70mm pen, if not, fire gold.

No, it is not OP. it is easily flanked and take out. It has terrible gun depression, is slow and the turret traverse is pathetic at best. Sure, its great for clogging up a lane in a city at tier but, that is really about it. Anywhere is the open, its toast.

On city maps you can't flank them as easily if you're in let's say a tier 5 heavy. Plus gold ammo won't reliably pen it, also one couldn't trade shots because as soon as he sees me, boom, I'm gone.

Really? Since when was -10 degrees considered bad?

Your opinion but, I am curious as to why you think so. In groups, I may give you its OP but not solo. Way too many weaknesses.

It needs to have weakspots on the frontal armor and not have 150mm rear armor >.>
It is pretty much the definition of power creep, it has the same gun as a kv2 with a bit better soft stats, the most armor of any tier 6 heavy tank, and decent mobility.

Let me clarify on the depression. The tanks is so large that with the -10 degree you still cannot hit a tank right on your side. While the number itself is not terrible, when you apply it to this particulat tank, it is not good. Follow?

Yeah, you mean it's easily troll-hugged.

You can always kill it last... it has 20s reload.

I kill a tank anyway necessary, just like when I find a fixed turrted TD, I get behind it and tear it apart. Why would I ever sit anywhere in front of a gun like that one? It makes no sense. The high alpha is there to counter the insanely long reload. It all evens out in the end.

The O-I is good. But I don't find it particularly overpowered for the reasons others have stated. Now the tank before it, the O-I Exp, that's overpowered.

Don't be so paranoid. It will likely get a nerf. It's not like WG hasn't nerfed other tanks before.

When you're in a not-so-mobile KV-1 you can't really get under the gun. Especially when they have allied support.

Sorry if I sounded paranoid. I was just asking because I couldn't tell the tone of voice he said that in. Plus I'm just a little tired of trying to fight these tanks every. single. match. (I play tier 5-7 a whole lot because my highest tank is tier 7 and my fav tier is 5...).

Heyyo,

Heh the O-I and the O-I Experimental both need a serious dpm Nerf. That would easily solve both if they didn't have the best gun for pen, damage and rate of fire all rolled into a deadly package.

I suggest get an O-I yourself and experience first hand being owned by small side hugging tanks or arty.

It needs some sort of frontal weakspot, such as the front of the mini-turrets. The rear armor should also be less then the frontal armor maybe 80-100mm instead of 150mm. If you flank and get behind and enemy heavy you should be rewarded with easy pens and maybe an engine fire not strong armor that matches the thickness of the frontal armor.

the O-I has 150mm frontal and rear armor which means everything equal tier and lower needs gold just to pen half reliably and it can one shot most tanks at tier 6 and every tank at lower tiers so it completely screws mm up at lower tiers

The sidehugging does happen but not very often. Plus, with -10 gun depression if the sidehugging tank makes one mistake you derp them for all, or at least most, of their HP.
