It's been out there in Premium Shop for almost a week. As the title says, what's the verdict? Is it any better than a fully upgraded Pershing?

I won't compare it with a T26E4 - that's a donkey with good frontal armor. The Persh is a more mobile and fun tank to play, so it's more fair to compare it the M26 and the M46 KR.

Normally I would buy it but crap premiums like 59-Patton and M4A1 Rev and quite a few more have made me hesitant to buy look-a-like premiums.

It's pretty nice.

20 games = 1 mil credits +/- 100k (depending on the number of tier 9 HT/tier 10 games)

Spoiler

It's kinda like the Pershing with the stock turret and mobility which trades tank traverse (turns a hell of a lot slower) for better uphill climbing/acceleration.

I have been doing comparisons with some clan mates and thus far I think it is going to be to the pershing what the fury is to the E8. I will be playing it tomorrow and compiling a "Words about a tank" article.

I have enjoyed the piss out of it.

A63 M46 Patton KR USA MT 8 87 66.67%

1443

it is absolutely not a front line tank. It has NO armor, but when poking ridge lines, it can bounce shots. Its 10 degrees of gun depression makes it nice for dealing dmg poking those ridges to put shots into tanks that are occupied with someone else. Its gun stats are on par with the Pershing, but dispersion on the move is great. The only thing I have found that I dont like is that it takes about a half second to full second to load. It just FEELS longer than it should to me.

Anyway, thats my $0.02. Take it for what its worth realizing I am a scrub... YMMV

Impressive penetration and damage rates! Looks like you have found use for it.

It's effectively an elite pershing with better gun handling with a not so troll mantlet(upper third is still troll) and a bit less mobility in trade for premium perks so you can run rations and spam apcr every game and more than make up the hit to the terrain soft stats. Dis thing is a snapshot master.

my buddy sees tier 10 battles 90% of the time.  another pay-to-lose tank.  save your money.

Yeah, it's nice for SH too as it's fast enough to keep up with IS-3s and has the DPM + penetration to rack up the credits quickly without excessive APCR use.

Speaking of APCR, it's pretty useless in tier 10 games (bounces off the side of an E-100 half the time RiP), so either have a high-penetration platoonmate handy (the new Panzer 58 Mutz, or current prems like CDC, T34, etc.) to help take out those tougher targets would be highly recommended to minimize credit losses (could've made an extra 200k credits if I did QQ)

Ammo rack has a tendency to get taken out though, so train safe stowage on the loader ASAP.

You have to avoid getting hit, so it serves as good practice for the T9 Patton.

http://tanks.gg/wot/tank/m46-kr#compare:pershing

The gun handling is quite nice =  0.12 (moving).

Pershing = 0.15

CDC = 0.20

STA-1 = 0.16

T-54 Mod 1 = 0.22

Type 59 = 0.18

admitted i have only 2 matches in it so far,but it feels "right". i like how it handles and the whole hilltop-peeksies thing.. of course i have a 3 full skill 4th at 50% crew, that may also factor in. and i have purposely NOT loaded any prem ammo. gotten ~1400 dpg,and 1 kpg. hope to better that soon.

I love it, pretty mobile little tank with great poking potential. When I hull down I am always bouncing shots off the turrent. Just stay back or hull down as the hull armour isnt spectacular and will let you down even when angled well.

I've got the M46 KR crew in the Fury but it will take a while before it's up to 100% on the first skill. But as it is a premium I can use any US medium crew in there so it doesn't matter. Anyway, I have a WAR lying abouts somewhere, I can always use that one until the loader can start using Safe Stowage.

Pros:
This tank literally rains credits

Awesome Paintjob

Snapshot ability

Good practice tank

Cons:

The performance was underwhelming.

is it better than a fully upgrade Pershing? no.

Verdict:
The M46KR is a "Solid" tank, it is not specially bad at anything, but its not  "Amazing" at anything either. so If you need a good source of credits, enjoy medium tanks, and need a premium US MT. Then I would say go for it.

I love this tank. If your still 5050 on it, just do it. You would have a great time in this tank.

Very nice tank.  80 battles in mine, 60% wr and 1837 dpg.  Dat gun handling is absurd.  And it prints credits.....

And that's just the thing, right now a lot of people are sucking in it, just like they do the regular Pershing tank. right now the average damage for this tank is just over 1000 on vBaddict. Me, I am averaging 1350 damage and 56% win rate. So, I am doing about 1/3rd better than the average player in it. Which explains why I already got my first barrel mark in it before 100 games. I now have 102 games in it. This is a tank that you either like, or i guess don't like. If you like and do well in the regular Pershing then you will like this premium tank a lot. If you don't then you will be a scrub who just brings down the stats for everyone else and just enable me to get my second mark in the tank that much quicker. It is a good tank, but it takes a certain kind of play style. It is also great for platooning in if you have the right folks.

my buddy sees tier 10 battles about as much as any other tier 8 sans the pref mm tanks. another elite tank with premium perks. you spend more on a nice dinner anyways if you have a job.
