Drive up close to one of the buildings. I mean, real close and staring right at it. Let your reticle bloom dissipate. Now, press fire!

Well that map does lack any deep bodies of water that are so convenient...:)

Pick a spot where you can hit both Tank Alley and around the base of the castle on the hill. To the side of the church when on the S side, or left of the cap when on the N side.

Where you position depends on where you want to fire at. There are around seven to ten decent positions on both the north and south side to position at.

Dat funny.

K4 on the south allows for shots to hill and also to D7 / D8 region and my favorite spot if I'm in arty. You can also go to K1 for 1, 2 and 3 line shots. You can also go K0 or J9 but I'm not a fan of those spots. I think arty from the south is better than playing arty from the north. From the north A1, A5 and A0 are your spots. Watch your arc from A0 though or you can butt shot your allies that are sitting at D0.

generally with long range arty, go to the tracks.

otherwise you can do base of the hill, or any of the street openings to get angles to fire either at the hill or at the lanes.

On the north side 2 choices:

1. Just behind the closest north corner of the big building on the tracks.  Lets you shoot part of the city and up on the hill.  You can roll out from behind the building to shoot down the street.

2. Or go to the other side of the map, climb up the hill about 1/4 of the way, hug the red line.  You can shoot parts of the city.

On the south side you can go just off the cap toward the tracks on the back redline.  Shoot tank alley and hill.

Sometimes you can go on out on the tracks if several teammates are in front of you.

Driving my Grille I usually setup on the baseline facing tank alley.  From there I can fire on opposing tanks trying to hull down on tank alley (good damage on dumb heavies), I can also fire on targets on the hill and on the train tracks from that position.  The Grille seems to have a high enough arc for that position.

You must be map aware though because if your team loses the hill, the enemy will come right down on you and sitting on the baseline, you will be a sitting duck.

That map is a TOTAL JOKE for arty. There is about 3 spots you can shoot at. You are better off going TD mode and killing your self off quickly....

the lefh is on a heavy tank chassis - therefore, push tank alley with it

My Lefh does fine on himmelsdorf as long as my teammates at least defend the 1-3 lines.

Set up at A2 and you will have shots down the 3 line, the plaza if people are stupid enough to drive across it, across G including windows, some areas down the 7 line, and on the hill.

Set up at K2 and you will have shots down the 1 line, down the 3 line, across D including windows, some areas down the 7 line, and on the hill.

A1 and K1 are similar but that is the first place many players look to counter arty.

If your team ignores the tracks you are screwed.

There's a gap in the wall at H9. Use that, while moving at top speed.

on north spawn there is a car/truck next to the barricade on the road that goes to the tracks (road closest to the north border) park on the car or a little farther back. tank alley and hill top are open to shoot at

South side is easy, the road that goes west along the south end just west of the church. You have good shots on the hill and some spots that are used for hull down positions in tank alley. North side the only good spot is behind the train shed but there is very little cover.
