Like the AT2.....less focus on camo and more focus on getting in the fight.

AT8. Jackson? M10 Wolverine. Most T5-6 TDs are support tanks.

while some exist, they have been largely power creeped out of play by higher pen tanks becoming more common.

I assume by "getting in the fight" you mean taking hits.

In that case, nothing is even remotely close to the AT2 until the t95 at tier9.

The rest of the british AT line suffers from being uptiered without a real armor enhancement, not to mention the average player is more wary of their weakpoints. They dont hold up nearly as well as the AT2 does.

Perhaps the SU-100? It's got a massive gun and decent bouncy armor.

Jpanther may also work a little.

Hetzers Got To Hetz.

the tier 4 and 5 Stugs aren't bad either, low angled armor and badgerass if my memory serves me right

AT7 can be pretty bouncy if hiding its cupola behind a corner. Same with T28HTC, but that's a reward tank.

Ferdi is ok top tier, but anyone who knows your weakpoints will punish you.

Obviously the ones with (relatively) lots of armor,

British AT line, US 110E4 line, German casemate line

The SU-100 and Jackson are both fairly "brawly" tier 6 TDs. The issue with mid-tier TDs is that they don't have reliable enough armor to really brawl with other tanks. The SU-100 can leverage its alpha to make good trades while the Jackson has trolly armor which sometimes works.

Su-122-44 has decent armor with 390 alpha that makes opponents think twice before coming around the corner.

SU-1100 can rely on its huge alpha and angled armor, SU-152 has that dorky gun mantlet (that's like a third of its front plate), SU-100Y ironically because the same dorky mantlet and really sharp side cheeks (against tier 6 there is a pretty decent chance they will either bounce or shoot your gun when the enemy is not aiming). The SU-100M1 has a decent mantlet as well (even though the rest of that td is complete trash).

I agree the AT7 is very underrated and surprised I don't see it out more.

In a T5 match the AT-2 unless flanked can be dam near indestructible, bouncing several thousand or more HP in damage is fairly common.  The good pen but low alpha gun holds it back brawling, and you'll need help by farming out damage, kind of like an assault scout. Don't know that there's any other TD quite in it's league for that.

SU12244 is pretty amazing at top tier, but in tier 9 matches it lacks

The AT8 has terrible armor, no alpha and is unagile. The AT7 is similarly underarmored for its tier. If you want a brawly TD, the su100 and su122-44 are decently brawly, with troll armor, good alpha and nice agility(+DPM in the su-122-44's case). Otherwise, the AT-15A is an awesome brawly TD, since its armor+gun arc are good enough to angle and tank hits like a boss from everything except a few TD guns.
