I've been trying to use an M4 Sherman in the game and every time I use the M4 I'm always one of the weakest tanks on the battlefield. How does the game decide what the line up is for tanks allowed in any particular battle? It just seems ridiculous to throw medium tanks against the heavy tanks (some are the top heavy tanks too) out there all the time. I'm thinking about just giving up on the M4 and try a different tank. It wouldn't be so bad if there where times my M4 was at least near the top of food chain concerning the battles, but I'm not kidding when I say near the bottom of the group all the time with the M4 Sherman.

Always one of the weekest tanks on battlefield

You just not lucky. I've been in battles in my T82 (way funner than going against camping T9s) and have seen plenty of M4s at the top.

The M4 sherman is a great tank when played correctly. If you feel you are always at the bottom than trying equipping the 105mm as it can pretty much damage anything. If you are an experienced player than you can equip the M1A1. It has good penetration and can damage the t7 heavies if aimed properly.

I was using the 105 but found it inaccurate for any distance shots. The anti-armor shells seem to be accurate but doesn't seem to do the damage even though I do try and place shots. Maybe I'm just lousing aim

The 105 is mostly used if you are an aggresive player. If you are using the 105 then you should be keeping your battles to 200m or less.
