No one plays the Bishop because it is fun, they all want the FV304, but the Bishop is supposed to be practice for the 304

I play the Bishop because it's fun. I kept it long after I had researched, purchased, and later sold the 304, and only sold it yesterday to make room in my garage.

Out of the tanks I own, the Bishop is my absolute favorite. Maybe it is in the tier 5 game sweet spot. But is is fantastic. I just trundle along behind whichever flank I choose, keep a close eye on the mini map, make sure I have 6th sense. Then help out the team by tracking the enemy for the tanks to slaughter.

Even the next 2 tiers , I keep using the short guns, the arc and fast reloading makes the enemy hate artillery even more.

Bishop is awsome , it lobs its shells on a arching trajectory and will lob and drop over most rocks and hills to get your enemy , due to its short range I follow the heavy pack and keep far enough out of sight to get killed , cant sit and camp like some long range arty , got to move constantly for best result , quick reoad and pinpiont acuracy is a major benifit of this tank , if you need more info go to facebook page " WOT arty noobs" and get every bit of info to play arty to the max there , cheers :)   https://www.facebook.../?ref=bookmarks

I just got my Ace Tanker on it (I've had already a Mark of Excellence on it), but Bishop (and Bert) isn't for me. I like the accuracy, but the lack of range is something I can't deal. My preferred on tier 5 is the Grille (Yet accurate, yet a high shell arc, but longer range and with more mobility).
But it's a nice artillery piece, I must admit.
The gameplay is close to the SU-5 with the last gun (short range, high shell arc). The russian accuracy is there, but have a nice splash radius (for a tier 4 arty). And the 450 alpha damage says "hello" to Matildas and Pz. B2 aswell.

9/10, I'm supporting heavy tanks.  And unlike 'normal' arty which is hiding at the back... well it has damn few spots to actually take cover.  And enemy scouts get through and wreck havoc.

A Bishop can pull just on the outskirts or even get in a city and pump damage on heavy tanks.  And nothing spells success better then taking guns out of the game.  Your small but quick

loading gun takes out those few remaining hit-points easily.  Scouts don't normally waltz past heavy tanks.  You're safer up on a strong flank.  Easy to pump out 1000-2000 dmg doing this.

I've seen 3k broken by another teammate doing basicly the same thing.   One thing I've noticed however... when you have to hit enemy close up... aim LOW.  If they're up close and in the

crosshairs, 9/10 my shells fly high.  Perhaps it's the viewport vs gun height mount?  Anyways, I've never had one shell go too low when defending myself.

Many will preach the FV304.  Far as I'm concerned, the speed advantage is lost by having the same gun only one tier higher.  And the Bishop can surprise many tanks and bounce... it's a

valentine chassis.  The Bishop has the HIGHEST win-rate of any non-premium arty.  And it's 2nd overall.

Once you stop thinking regular arty and play this like something else, it will come together and be the best.  I've sold my American/German/French/Soviet arty for a reason.  Bishop is the only

one left.
