I am liking the T-28 Proto so far.  Free XP'd the modules and the top gun is pretty good.

every class has their own set of pros... the TDs high alpha and massive amounts of penetration as long as you hit armour that isnt an autobounce, you will pen

you dont even need to press 2, 2 win as AP already plays the "your armour means nothing" card

Seems like the formula for "balancing" the game is to ruin tank classes.

1. Arty OP, nerf rng and accuracy for them.

2. TDs OP, nerf camo after firing and view ranges, add corridors for heavies so tds can't snipe them.

3. Heavies OP, allow everyone to purchase high pen premium ammo for credits so it is spammed by everyone.

4. Mediums and lights OP, remove spotting bushes, add more corridors, city maps and rig more matches so more heavies are on one team.

Basically completely destroy the game to "balance" all tanks.  Nerf winning using skill and ruin the fun factor in the process.

T28 is strong once u got it elite. Ur armor can hold up against most tier8, just wiggle it while reloading ur gun. Be sure to pick the right place to go, because relocating is a pain. Follow the weakest flank and help em. Or hold on to an important road. I installed upg suspension to avoid researching the tracks, that way  I was able to mount the top gun quicker... Did a lot of good dmg with that 120mm. And it sets the pace for the T95, that one is dreadfully slow.

T28 and proto are mop up TDs. You follow the pack, track and get damage where you can. With the "quick" reload speed you can finish off the the low health tanks trying to hold up your team's movement. They also work great to slow/remove flanking tanks. (just have to be prepared and anticipate the flanking pushes)

"Mop up" with 20 km/h top speed? Good luck with that.

The problem with the T28s aren't necessarily the speed limitations, but that the armour isn't good enough to warrant those disadvantages. When you finally get to the fight, you can get absolutely wrecked by anything with 220/230+ penetration, and in the case of the Prot, you won't have enough HP to just trade outright with most of the things you meet like that. And if you try to play traditional TD sniper on the roof, you still won't be effective because your gun isn't even accurate.

Unless a lot has changed during my break from the game, I found the Proto at least had decent accuracy and performed quite well from distances. Biggest challenge was getting into the "mix" before all the fun is had. But most of that is handled by reading the map, enemy tank make up, and anticipating where the enemy is going to be. Overall, I have enjoyed working the backfield, adding damaging shots in between my teammates' shots.

The T28 has a tougher time mainly due to its height. Not able to use cover or fire over obstacles as well as the Proto.

The turret cheeks are weak too and next patch they are adding a turret roof with commanders cupolas so this just adds another weak spot for enemies to aim at.
