Well, why not? I am, as many of you know, a scale modeller, and I need a little incentive to stop playing WoT and WoWS, and get back to my old, creative hobby.

Although I'm a fan of modern, obscure stuff, I do have one or two WoT-esque models on the shelf awaiting building. So let's set a start date of, oh, the week of 27 Mar, use this thread to report on progress.

I'm thinking I'll have a crack at this one.

What kind of tank is that Chief..? I think I see a couple of 'USA stars' on that decal sheet...;)

By the way....

Pretty sure gsoldierSchmit is correct.  As Chieftain has told me a few times during a meet-and-greet in Philly "look at the suspension."  4 connection points for the unique suspension system that the Chi-Ri uses.

I would agree it's a Chi-Ri. Suspension, 4 front hatch doors location, turret location.

I'm down. I have an unfinished Dragon kit of the  BergPanzer based on unused Ferdinand hulls. About 40% done. Will post pics as the starting point.

====== 03/16 ========== Update. Out for Spring break, will add model updates in a couple weeks.

Current status, in drawer:

I think I'll get either Trumpeter's IS-7, Miniart's T-44, or Dragon's Firefly Ic (all in 1:35 scale)

Going for the IS-7. It will look nice on my shelf next to the T-34-85 and M-51

I think the gray is too light.  It's like a mix between winter white wash and dunkelgrau.

Who remembers the model tank contest WoT had a few years back?

A fun challenge, Chieftain!  I'm in!  I have a few nice kits in my build queue - Tamiya Easy 8, T-34-85, T-34-76 1943 (that I'm building as a T-34-57 ala WOT), and others.. Incidentally, I'm also doing a WOT/WTGF/AW Group Build on the Armorama site.

I'm in with a Type-59.  This is going to be fun.

Sounds interesting, haven't done something like this before. I haven't gotten any un-built models yet though (quite some unpainted ones though), so hopefully I'll have something new and interesting by then.

Or maybe I'll just set fire to an old Zvezda model tank again.

Model builders never lose the itch. Only thing to do is scratch it. :)

If you are in summer camo and a surprise snow fall hits, I think you paint your tank with whatever you can find.

I have always wanted to see one painted pink.... Du Dum Du Dum Du Du Du Du Du Du Du Du Du Duuuuuuuuuu Dum....

Might give it a go, got a 1/35 Hobby Boss T-35 that needs finishing and Meng's 1/35 Tortoise which is washed and ready for assembly. Too bad university takes up a lot of time :P

Also Chief's kit is a Chi Ri, I've got the same kit in my stash
