7,5 cm, gun caliber

KwK, short for Kampfwagenkanone, or tank gun

40, 1940 model (developed from pak 40)

L/48, length of the gun barrel is 48 times its caliber, or 48 x 7.5cm = 3.6 meters

another question.

How come longer guns sometimes have lower accuracy for example:

Gun 5 cm KwK 38 L/42  = 2.1 meters (.42 accuracy at 100m)

Gun 5 cm KwK 39 L/60 = 3 meters (.35 accuracy at 100m)

Or am I doing something wrong?

[Revised Post]

You are not using the numbers correctly.

The lower the number, the more accurate the gun. This measurement (0.41, 0.36 for example) is a measure of the area to which this gun is accurate at 100 meters.

So if your gun has an accuracy rating of .36, your shell will land in an area of .36 meters from where your cross hair is. It can land anywhere in that circle (represented in-game by the dotted circle around your aiming device)

As per the DEVs (I think Overlord) the accuracy falls off linearly from 100m.

Cheers!
Glenn

P.S., I had to edit my post after making a basic placeholder so I wouldn't get ninja'd. lol

Panzerabwehrkanone = Antitank cannon.

Yay, I wasn't ninja'd this time.
Also, all of these info can be easily acquired via google, wikipedia and online translators. Put some effort into it!
