Well, optimization has been downloading for about an hour and it keeps saying it is complete and I can play, but then says I can't because download in progress. It's like it is stuck. Any suggestions? I am missing my premium time! 60MM greetings is my PC version, this is for my XBox 360 account. Just tried to play the mini-game and I can't do that because the Optimization Complete screen keeps popping up. Sorry no comment on the new sounds, because I haven't heard them yet.

after the introduction of your "new sounds" I can't is in the game even one hour - I have a headache and there is a noise in the ears. did anyone of you do not realize that prolonged exposure of low frequency sounds can lead not only to a simple deterioration of health but also to harm the health ?!?!? :deer:

Hello WoT

I would really like to hear a solution from you all at WoT for our current 9.14 Sound problems listed below!

Previous to 9.14 all the sounds worked perfect, out of my Dell sound bar, under my screen.

Now, there were no voice messages (still set to-Standard) in battle at all, until I checked off the Enable voice chat box (which I have never used or plan use to in future)! I'm trying everything to see what gives, here in this screwed up situation.

I have constant loud rushing wind sounds instead of any tank motor and tracks sounds (option for narrow sound range is on).

My own tanks gunfire and reloading sounds were replaced by what sounds exactly like feeding coins into a casino slot machine (which is completely ironic, but not at all funny) hitting an almost empty tin can with a few other coins!

Thus game is presently totally unbearable for me to play with these hideous sound problems.

I would really like to hear a solution is quickly on the way from WoT Administrators! Thank you.

Sincerely,

OrnmiIler

The 7.5 on the Stug g now sounds like a spit ball from Sister Mary Margaret's 2nd grade English class.  Pfft!

Yeah - just about every gun now sounds like a .22 rifle firing - sometimes with a suppressor. However, I do like the engine noises. The guns though... :(

Anyone found a solution to this yet? Especially the gun sounds. Game is unplayable as it is.

Comments on new sounds.

First, thanks!  Great idea!!

.

1) Global sound volume is  20 db lower than pre-patch, making headphone play now void... please increase global sound 20 db minimum then set default volume at 80%.  There should ALWAYS be extra volume capacity.  Needs at least a 20% increase in available volume to use headphones, the method many of us use 100% of the time.

2) All turret gun firing sounds EXACTLY like an airsoft pistol... I know, I tested an airsoft pistol and then fired the tank gun, my daughter said they sound exactly the same.  As a former US ARMY tank gunner, I can assure you the boom you had just before the patch was as close as you can get through speakers.  This new one sounds like we are firing BB guns. Please restore the gun boom and lose the sound of air coming out of the gun, no large caliber gun in the history of guns has an air sound come out before, during, or after firing.

3) BUG:  After a few minutes the Tank Target Lock crew voice vanishes... I don't mean quieter, I mean it is gone.

4)  Tank Tracks Rattle non-stop while driving, right now it seems like I am driving over sand regardless of terrain

5) I like all the new round impact sounds including ricochets.

6) I have only played around 10 thousand games of WoT's but I think it would take another 10 thousand to learn how to differentiate between caliber sizes from hits and ricochet's enough to change any of my tank actions, however, I like the whole idea of it and I'm glad it has been added.

Thanks for the continued development of this great game!

GeneralKarl

Imo gun sounds are muffled, and all sound similar, while the new engine sounds are an improvement, they to all sound like they were taken from the Chaffee race tank we had a while back, or at worst, sound like my hydrostatic lawnmower.

I was very impressed with this game when I first played been playing ever since (9/20015) but after the update 9.14 I am so disappointed in the sounds  :(  Pls change them back ! I the sounds u upgraded too are really a downgrade to the way they use to sound (guns) esp. I was looking forward to the t57 heavy tank sound , but now SMDH !    THUMBS DOWN , NOT EVEN EXCITED ABOUT  GETTING CERTAIN TANKS NOW.

IDEA , GIVE US THE OPTION WHAT SOUNDS WE WANT THE OLD OR THE NEW ........... THE SOUNDS U HAVE NOW IS LIKE ARMORED WARFARE AND THAT'S THE REASON WHY I DON'T PLAY THEM BECAUSE U HAD MUCH BETTER SOUND THAN THEY DID .      FIND A MIDDLE GROUND PLEASE

I have no idea why anyone likes the new sounds in v9.14, they are HORRIBLE and are so distracting and irritating that the game almost unplayable for me. To please everyone and make the game actually worth playing again for all of us, please put in an option to select "classic" or "new" sounds.

Gun, hit and engine sounds provided in various mod packs are FAR superior to what I am hearing now.  Hopefully we will be able to start using these again soon.

I've only been playing WoT since January, so I can't say I miss the old sounds.  But the new warning buzzer is annoying.  It's not realistic but the whole reason for the changes was realism...?

Also, all shell hit sounds onto and into my tank are presently non-existent, and no commander voice messages alerting me of those hits and penetrations onto and into my tank. This situation is a great disadvantage for me during battle and so is of major importance.

I like the new sounds . The delay need to be cut back some . I went into my sound cards mixer and lowered the mid-highs and highs some and raised the mid-lows and lows some . The over-all effects I placed to "Padded Cell " to limit the delay effect .

You might actually be disappointed by the "real sounds" of tank gunnery ...

Those sounds are heard differently from atop the tank, inside the tank, behind the tank, and in front of the tank ...

And all those sounds vary with bore size...

This one for comparison ...

Even when the recording gear is sitting on your lap, the sounds of tank gunnery and down-range explosions are often quite different when heard from different angles and locations. Usually, there is a huge difference between the explosion you hear on the play-back and the explosion you actually witnessed.

The recording machinery never records exactly what you hear, but the recording machinery records some of those sounds more accurately than you hear them, and you hear some of those sounds more accurately than they can be recorded. Even the latest tech in sound-recording will be over-loaded by the full spectrum of audible frequencies produced by the explosive sounds of tank gunnery - all within a fraction of a second.

What you really expect here is a range of of dramatic, but unrealistic, Hollywood sound effects ...

Foley Artists produce those sound effects during movie post-production, entirely separate from the filmed event.

Game developers produce those effects the same way, but draw from a digital library and tweak them "appropriately".

As most of those folks have never been to an ordnance range, they apply alot of SWAG methodology.

I haven't tried the small stuff, but what I've heard so far are fantastic. People have this misconception about what a tank gun is supposed to sound like, they like big booms. In actuality, it's a crack. Think of it like the difference between lightning hitting 100 yards away and two miles from you. There's no rumble, no bass, per se. Just a single blast, which overpressures you quickly, and it's done.

Quoted to reinforce the point ... Thanks for the back-up ... again ... hopefully, for the last time ...

I agree with all the people about these new sounds being bad, I really wish WoT would include an option in the settings to allow us to use the old sounds. The new sound effects to me sound cheesy and not as dynamic with the explosions or when your tank shoots. So please WoT put an option in settings for us to be able to use the old sound effects again, thank you.

Previous patch was much better, you messed with the sounds I like.  You nerfed all my fav tanks for the purpose of "Implementing physics" which if I wanted crappy physics I would of spent thousands on a different game!

U messed with rng, ground resistance, and so many other things that have made this game worse!  Not to mention the spotting mechanics are still so messed up.  Camo values mean little.

GIVE US OUR TANKS BACK!  WE DONT WANT THIS PHYSICS CRAP!

I wouldn't of spent 1,000s on this game if you were just going to try to be like the others.
