Can anyone suggest where to shoot a Ferdinand from the front? I don't notice any obvious viewports or machine gun outlets. Is the lower hull the only place to target?
Thanks!

shoot it anywhere and you have a good chance at hitting a weak spot there are so many...

I just close my eyes and shoot, and hope that he doens't blow my track off so I can run away. I hate Ferdies...can't wait until I can own one.

the lower glacis is a know weak spot but, it's also the business end of the Ferdinand namely the 128L55 so not a good idea. shoot the tracks and flank or hit the sides or rear.
Driven one in CB and it's back in my garage and its by far the most fun TD i own.
the lower plate is also a very smal target to hit at range, or when in CQC i just ram the enemy and he can only shoot the gunshield or 200mm casemate

and this gets negative rep...?
When in fact, a tier 3 can penetrate the hull in numerous places. This was tested and posted in this very forum no less than a month ago.

keep in mind the the angle of the armor to your gun is important, 220 pen is enough to dick a ferdi anywhere in the hull, 220+ and you can shoot it pretty much anywhere you want except the gun mantle. and if you can't hit anything but the top plate, and cant penetrate it, and you can't get away. he them right in the gun or if you're feeling daring, try to set them on fire with a frontal he shot., you'll make their life tougher after they're done with you

Thanks a ton for this picture. Like I said, I didn't see any obvious viewports or anything, so I wasn't sure where to shoot. And, since I'm usually sniping from extreme ranges, I don't always have a clear shot. But now I know!
Thanks!
(Ferdis are something I see fairly often when I'm playing my Tiger and Panther, and I'm actually afraid of them since I can't easily flank them, unlike in my T-44. lol)
