That might be tough seeing as the battle times overlap exactly with most Challenger's League battle times.  Unless of course you have a bunch of extra players online that night.

So no problem for Champions teams to participate?

We can even get one of those coveted spots in Challengers for next season! :teethhappy:

Willing to join a serious clan participating, at a minimum this means dedicated practice for each map.

I agree with your decision, but following your logic, shouldn't tanks that used to be on sale but no longer are (such as ]Mutant M6, type 59, and KV-5) be banned as well?

who the f is gonna bring a tier 8

Only 22 clans participating. This is very understandable, if my clan can be used as a case study:

TL;DR clan needs to be able to sign itself up without needing each individual member to sign up (do it clan wars style)...I pointed this out about a month ago, the last time WG failed in an attempt to get clan tournaments going.

2 days ago:

me to one of our clan wars officers: this tournament sounds interesting, should we do it?

him: sure, I'll start a team. (which he does. of the roughly 10 clan members online at that time, 4 decide to join the team.

1 day ago:

I look at the list of people on the team. Still only 4 members. 2 times during the day, when roughly 20 clan members are on each time, I mention the tournament and provide the link and password.

nobody signs up. While I'm in battle, someone asks what the password is, without looking 3 lines of text higher for the answer. When I get out of battle, that person is no longer online, and hasn't joined the team.

Today, I'm at work. I get home, registration is closed, still only 4 members on the team; failed to get entered.

You see, WG, only the best of the best clans have anything resembling order in their ranks. And even they don't have most of their players online at the same time the majority of the time. So, it's really hard to tell everyone in the clan to sign up for something, and then hold their hand through the process so they actually do it. However, if on any given Monday or Wednesday night you looked at the number of clan members on, you'd usually find fifteen or more, and they could maybe even be convinced to fight in a tournament that just so happened to be going on then. That's how clan wars works for us, and if this clan tournament thing were to be viable it would have to be the same way. And, I think we'd definitely prefer tournaments over the global map, since its very hard for a mid-level clan like ours to hold any territory long enough to get any gold from it (our treasury has something like 4k gold from a full year of futile global map activity...and we're, like I say, a mid-skill-level clan. Global map continues to be useful only to high level clans, but I guess that's a topic for a different post.

If you struggle to get enough people online to even SIGN UP for this; what makes you think you will have enough for the battles?

Registration for the second Open Cup is now open!

WGCL Open Cup 2 of 3

As a reminder: clans need a minimum of 14 members to sign up before the captain can confirm the team. After registration is closed, all clan members will be added. So captains, feel free to confirm anytime after 14 players have been added!

You guys posted the same thing for round two... it says 225,000 gold for the winner, screenshotted this time (so you have to pay it out, right?)

I think this would be fun but the payout is so bad why bother? I can play in individual tourneys every week and walk away with 5k gold myself. Now if you were putting 5k gold per player into the clan bank then it would be something. Maybe you do that in the other leagues but that is really a crappy payout.

Because its competitive 15v15 clan play with complex strategies. (Or just 15 50bs)

plus, when you win you can brag about your Epeen

its not 15 v 15 it is 14 v 14 and I enjoy bragging more about how much gold i make in tourneys. I would love to give this a try because it is different but seems like kind of a waste of time. No offense I think whenever you can add new stuff that people want to do that is great. I think they should implement and 30 v 30 pub match style of play but that will never happen.

Players in clan league need to submit replays and python logs which show no mods being used. So yes its a real mod-less tournament

if they only take the top 50% of clans to stage three  and there is a odd number of clans what happens to that middle clan. example 13 clans in open cup and 50% is 6.5 so does that seventh place clan make it to stage three or not. and it says they pay out the top 8 clans does that mean that they will atleast take 8 clan into stage 3 and play offs or not.

Thats exactly what happened for the 2nd open cup. There were 13 teams registered and 7 will be moving on. (Open Cup Standings Here)

The goal is to prep and practice so you can get into challengers league where your rewards are much better. Unique camo patterns, boxes, gold etc... are all up for grabs in challengers/champions.
