This mod is god damned amazing. I love that the crew sounds like they have personality while not sounding like they belong in Toy Story. I have to say that if you could make a version that fills in some of the missing alerts (ammo rack'd, downed gun, so on) with any that you may have excluded because they were too specific, I would be gleeful. : D
One question, however: Did you remove the crit. bell sound? I've noticed that it is gone.

Could OP make a voice pack from the Eastern Front's Russian tankers voices?
Pretty sure it'll be quite good.

Glad you all are enjoying the mod, let's see if I can answer a few of these questions.
"The sounds are a bit quiet, can you make them a bit louder?"
Yes and no.
As far as I understand this is true. The original soundfiles the devs used for the voices are quite loud, and seem to have been recorded that way. With CoH on the other hand, Relic didn't do this, and their sound files are a bit quieter. I built the soundbank with no attenuation (I.E 0 dB), so I think the only way to increase the volume, would be to artificially amplify the sound files themselves. Personally I don't like that, as it usually (in my experience) leads to a degradation of the sound quality. However, I'll admit I don't really know anything about sound engineering so if someone knows how to do it, feel free to enlighten me. I shall look into though, and see if I can do anything without amplifing the sound files.
So with that being said,
that is your best option for increasing the volume. (And do people actually play WoT at full volume? I find on my PC that it is extremely loud, and I usually have it around 50%. Could just be my PC though)
"How'd you get the mod to work?"
Quite a few people have been asking me this, so I'm going to write up a guide, and put it in a new thread. I'll try and get it up by the weekend.
Yes I did, I can put it back in if you'd like.
With respect to additions to the voice packs, I'll also try and get some done by the weekend, and put them up here. They may come sooner, they may not, and I can't say which ones will be finished. Bit busy this week as it's no more holidays and back to uni for me. Which means sadly less time to work on the voices
However, I shall endeavour to at least get 1 pack done, and the guide on how to make your own.

Muffled voices and sounds, IIRC, is a side effect of sound modding in WoT. I'm just curious as to how he got this mod working.
So with that being said,

just the tiger voices alone could piece together almost a whole german faction voiceover.
ammo rack"a shot in our side hits the ammo there""giimme a fuel and ammo check"
radio repaired"comm system in order
gun repaired"heavy panzer is weapons free"
bounce off player tank"they can't break the frontal armor""Ha they're scratching your paint hermut"
enemy destroyed"enemy kamphfwagen kaput!"
turret damage/destroyed"turret traversal,check the hydraulics"
engine damaged"giimme a fuel and ammo check"
suspension damage"check suspension"
well thats all i could make out anyway
and i also found the sherman/pershing voice pack done by the same guy

My hat is off to you, man. Quite a few people (including me), with varying levels of experience, have tried to create our own soundbank for WoT and failed.

How would one use all the voicepacks at once? or is that not an option atm?
#35 Posted Jul 29 2011 - 12:18
Wasn't it a simple case of World of Tanks not knowing what to do with the .FSB file, and so the .FEV is used to tell World of Tanks the required information, to make it work? Kind of like how you get a new gizmo but it didn't come with a manual.
Unfortunately, WoT doesn't have the capability for this yet. The developers would have to implement this themselves, AFAIK.

Thanks, using the Panzer Elite voices, great stuff.
Only hope in time you could add more alerts for different hits.
Cheers
