It's time for the Heavy Throwdown! This weekend, grab your favorite tier VI heavy tank and head to the battlefield! Players will face off in an epic 1v1 clash on Mittengard for gold and glory!! Don't have a tier VI heavy tank? You're in luck! This weekend you can rent the "battleboat" TOG II*!

Joining a tournament and earning a prize is easier than ever! In the Heavy Throwdown, single-player teams are split into groups, with each group having no more than 10 teams. Facing all other teams in their group, the best tier VI heavy tank commander will earn the 1st place prize - a cool 500 gold! If you're not at the top of the pack, don't worry, players will earn gold all the way to 7th place!

Stop by, sign up and join the competition!

Tournament Information

  • Team size: 1
  • Map: Mittengard
  • Max tier allowed: 6
  • ONLY heavy tanks allowed

Looking for even more of a challenge? Check out our daily Stand-To tournaments - you can sign up as a complete team or sign up individually! If you sign up as a solo player you will be assigned to a team.

Run into a player that brought something other than a heavy? Send in a dispute immediately after the tournament ends and we will adjust the scores. Please not, you must include all of the requested information when you submit your dispute!

Disputes must adhere to the protocol detailed below or risk having the dispute dropped by tournament administration.

  • Disputes must be submitted immediately after the round has concluded.
  • Disputes must be emailed to tournaments@wargamingamerica.com
  • The email subject: Heavy Throwdown Dispute

Disputes must include the following in the body of the email or risk having the dispute dropped by tournament administration:

  • In-game name of the player submitting the dispute
  • Name of the tournament (Heavy Throwdown)
  • Your team’s name with a link to your team’s page created for you during registration
  • Your opponent’s team name and a link to your opponent’s team page created during registration
  • Reason for dispute: e.g. “I would like to report the team for using a tank that was not allowed, the StuG III.”
  • An attached replay of the disputed battle(s)

I was doubtful at first, but I'm really starting to like these 1v1 tournaments above all the others.  Due to my school and work schedules (I work evenings and my degree program involves a great many night classes,) I often find it hard to commit to a week long skirmish, and I know I can't participate in a stand-to.

These 1v1 tournaments allow me to sign up on the morning of a tournament once I know if I will have time.  This means I don't worry about having to either: finding a good team early on, risking disappointing them, or scrambling to find a (likely crap) team at the last second.

Keep running these tournaments and I shall be a very happy camper.

This is fun idea but you picked the worst balanced tier for a heavy tournament.

We don't pick the tier, the Weekly Class Focus rental does.

Don't have an O-I, so worth joining with my T-150, and some side scraping mastery? :)

And now a technical defeat.  10/10 programming.  Guess I'm out.
