I thought about that, but I just don't know that it would be that good in this.  T-28 with the Zis-4?

If you are going to be in a T-28 57mm armed you may as well be in a Matilda at least they will have to aim to pen.

Come on stop it with the low tier crap tanks...we all know you guys make them bad to drive away potential players...it will be full of hetzers with heat rounds anyway. Go back to the t8 stuff those were good.

true, low tier tournaments are crapsince there's no balance on low tier tanks.

Or any others, the point is they want more people to participate, correct? How does that goal become realized when they are pandering to players who most likely don't even know how to find the tourney page on WoT website, or that it even exists. Who will also not even show up most likely. That and 'most' experienced players get to the point where they don't even play below t6-7, ever. So they have no interest. It is a lose-lose in my view.

My main dislike of t2-4 is because of OP low tier prems that are just plain broken in this format, so any 'new' players who are going to show up in their best t2-4 are going to get stomped anyway. At least give them a chance in t5-7.

But this is fine, because its a 1v1 'for fun'. You want some real jokes, ask how skirmishes which pay out over $400 worth of gold+premium time over the entire team are decided by t4-5 battles. You can make as much gold playing t5 joke tanks for skirmish in a week, than you can make doing clan wars every day in a month for every clan but the top 6-8, on the t10 map. t5 Skirmish > t10 cw, makes sense. I mean I'm not complaining, I will laugh all the way to the gold bank with easy gold, but it really... really does not make any sense why it is so easy, and why it is so low tier, for the prizes.

Tier 4 randoms and Tier 4 tournament play are completely different beasts.

I enjoyed the Tier 4 stand-to a couple weeks ago. It was a refreshing mental exercise, deciding on what tank to play that would give the biggest advantage either to the team or against the tanks that the other team would field. I was the only one to field an AMX 40 in my group and where the gun didn't hold up, the armor was more effective. Especially against T-28's with the Zis-4. This 1v1 is another break from randoms and skirmishes where I can tackle a situation, decide on the most adaptable tank to play, and see if I'm correct with my decision making

It's not about the gold for me, as I spent more already in retraining a crew for a tank and moving equipment around than I'd get back even if I win the first prize. It's about the experience and, as mentioned above, the mental exercise. Some new players are going to stumble in, with bad crews or bad tank choices, but that's inevitable. They'd do the same at any tier level.

so how do we enter the battle once we have registered?  is there a special code or something that is sent to us?  is the a drop down menu option?

Hi!!

I don't know if you play Clan Wars or not, but if you do, tournaments work via the Special Battles system similar to CW. Assuming you (or others) don't play Clan Wars, here is a hopefully understand step-by-step guide. Unfortunately, I'm at home so don't have any pretty pictures to add to make it easier :(

About 10 minutes before the first battle begins, a "Special Battles" window will pop up on the bottom bar, where the general chat, clan chat, platoon chat, etc. is located. Clicking on that brings up a window that has the match. Click on the match to bring up another window. This one will have your name in red, on the left side of a barrier. At the top of the screen you should see all the tournament information.

The left side is the reserve side. You will need to move yourself to the right (or active) side, using the arrow. Select the tank you want to use in the garage and click "Ready." Your name should change from red to green. As long as you are within the correct tier limit (tier IV tank), you are ready to go! Once the countdown hits zero, your battle will automatically start.

You will need to repeat this process for each match. Don't forget to ready a tank and move to the right side, otherwise you won't go into battle. If you have any other questions, let me know!

Good luck and have fun!!

Hi guys!!

Just a heads up. To reduce the load on the server, we will often offset matches. Because there are so many people playing and so many matches (yay!), the final set of groups will be starting round one at 13:20 PT! Yep, that means the last set will be starting 20 min after the start time.

Please make sure to go to the tournament page to see what time your round 1 begins. If battles don't pop at 13:00 PT, then could be because you are scheduled to start later.

Good luck and have fun everyone! Let me know if y'all have any question :)

Why did I get a technical defeat, if I was there and readied up?

NM I figured it out, I guess I had a brain fart :/

One loss I shouldn't have had fml

Thought I just had to click ready.  Missed the first 3 battles  First time I have tried a tournament.  Wish I had seen the instructions sooner.

So now, I guess the other tanker couldn't figure it out either.  Just got a technical victory.

I find these 1v1 are less about skill and more about RNG. At least on Mittenguard. But if you show up you should at least get gold. Only 4 of the 10 in our group showed up.

Can someone explain what a Technical Draw is.

I assume a Technical Victory is when the other player doesn't show up/isn't ready, so what's a Technical Draw?  I just saw my son get one when he was ready with his Matilda selected.

A techincal draw means both players were not ready to fight or didn't show up.

Perhaps he forgot to move himself from the Queue to the Battle Roster.

If you're tank is in the Queue you are not going to enter the battle.

Hello! Not sure if here is the correct place to post this but I ended the 1 vs 1 Tournament from today with 8 wins and 1 loss. 3 of my wins were technical wins (opponents didnt show up) but somehow my group standings show up that i only have 8 games instead of 9, it didnt take in consideration my first technical win on my first game. So I ended up with 24 points drawing into 1st place not with 21 points (2nd place).

Data:

Group 48

Team name: Derp Much Bro?

Opponent name: Ghost Tigers

Result: 1st game Technical Win

Correct standing:

9 Games Played, 8 Wins and 1 Lost

Please correct this,

Thank you.

That tournament was good.  Quick fun.  Some nice pocket change.

Granted, it didn't involve trying to co-ordinate the schedules of 7 people over the course of a week, while rotating them in so nobody felt benched....   you know, all the normal tournament fun, but it was still OK.

Fun, you know, that reason you start playing a game in the first place?
