If you don't like the stock sounds, I've made a semi-reconstruction of Gnomefather's gun sound mod. It's not a perfect recreation, and still a WIP, but I'll make it available here for now.

Please note that I don't plan on doing a full reproduction because his mod was very big and used to cause performance issues on my laptop, and also due to my fairly limited capabilities. This one is much smaller, and should not cause as much issues with loading.

Latest Update: Updated for basic compatibility with 9.17

MEDIAFIRE LINK

Please let me know if there are any bugs.

Installation Instructions

- Unzip contents of the folder "sound mod" into res_mods/0.9.16

Notes

1) No long range gun sounds like in the old mod.

2) Limit of 200 sounds per soundbank if using free WWise.

3) Since I mod some of my vehicle visual models, some of them may look slightly different (Tiger with short 88 when equipped with long 88). Let me know if anything was changed that I accidentally left in.

BONUS: Blitzkrieg Voice Mod

Uses the rather good voice-acting from the 2003 RTS Game Blitzkrieg by Nival Interactive (considering they are all played by Russians trying to masquerade as Germans, Americans, and Brits).

MEDIAFIRE LINK

To install: extract folders to res_mods/0.9.17.0.1/audioww

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to a lack of one-to-one correspondence between the voice lines of Blitzkrieg and WoT, some events in WoT will not have a voice line associated them if you use this mod (i.e., damaged gun, damaged optics, etc.), although most of the actually important ones have a line.

Does this work with 9.15?

Already sick of all my heavies and guns sounding the same!

Can anyone provide input on this on how to run it (attempt) in 9.15? These gun sounds are the best and the only reason I run xvm.

Any input appreciated.

Thanks man. Will this repel some other sound mods?

Doesn't seem to be working for me.

I have quickbaby's mod pack installed

All other tanks sound more or less the same

My own tank's gun is muted (no sound)

I'll try again without any mods later

Try it without any other sound mods (I don't know if quickybaby's has one), it seems to be fine on my end

Is this working on 9.15.1 yet? I tried with Quickybaby's mod ... the mod crashes the game and I can run the game without the sound mod

I'll see what I can do for the 105 one, but for the 122, I don't actually like that sound (it's from War Thunder), so I used it for the Chinese 122s

I've got it working for 9.15.1, although I still have to fix some of the guns which have the wrong sounds, since WG messed with the xml names again. I can upload my current version if you want, because I'll too busy to fix that until the weekend.

Updated to 9.15.1, works as far as I know, having played a few battles. Some sounds may not be fitting because Wargaming has changed vehicle XMLs AGAIN, and they are a real pain in the butt to track down. Please let me know if you find any.

It's not map-related, it's probably one of the vehicles that spawned on the team. Do you happen to remember what vehicles there were on both teams?

The next time it crashes, check the python.log in the main WoT folder and tell me what it says

Should work fine with Aslain's as long as you don't have other sound mods
