The Soviets did not think very highly of the tank so that may have affected how much they wanted to mess with upgrading the vehicle.

No doubt :)

Agreed.  I really liked this one.  Made me want to go watch Sahara one more time.

Same here... they had the version with the side door in Sahara too... and it's always a good time for some Bogey...

Great vids Chieftain... thx

Found this while poking around Chief.

July 7th 1942.

"Letter dated 1 may from continental motors to Olley (Oiley?) B.F.C Detroit states relocation of air cleaners to rear outside of tank and revised exhaust system results in increase of 72 horse power at propeller shaft. We have informed C.S.A are providing field modification kits for all M.3 mediums. ?able whether similar program is contemplated for Ram."

72 extra horsepower is nothing to sneeze at. Does this mean the R975 was now pushing 472 gross? or was it only doing 328 hp up to this point and the extra 72 brought it up to 400.

Edit: found this today.

Hard to read but we can see the R975-C1 gross is over 400 hp, and the net is higher then 350 hp.

likewise for the C4 we can see the gross is now just below 500 hp and the net is a bit below 450 hp.

No idea on the date quality is to low to read if one is written below.
