Event: Tank Destroyer 1v1 Throwdown

1) Wargaming not properly prioritized NA-East server for the tournament, leading to ping over 300 ms and CTDs

2) The Wargaming not complied with the rules of the tournament as the minimum time between rounds of three minutes creating overlapping each other on events.

3) Wargaming allowed entry in the battle players with tanks out of specification, I exemplified my case where a Cronwell B entered an exclusive match of TD's

4) The disorganization of the tournament was so big that caused an absurd number of technical victories

1) They didn't really need to prioritize the server.

2) That's an error that the staff is working on at the moment

3) Report the user through the proper channels

4) That's just players not being there, etc. A tech victory is a win, I don't understand why you would dislike them.

They some how fixed the results. Can't remember well the stats of the other teams in my group, but mine remains unchanged and even I've finished second I received 500 gold.

wthis going on? Got technical defeat for round 7 before a had a chance to play round 2. ????????????? A guy in my round 7 must be really connected in WG. Group #169...  Filing a dispute..

As usual got screwed by WG. So I lost only one battle to a guy in fifth place, but WG put me in 4th position. Got llousy 300 gold. The 1st place went to a guy who got tech victory over me in "round 7", and from other players I know that he used to bring his ARL44 into other battles. All disputes (including mine over round 7) were completely ignored. Way to run tournaments WG... 100 gold compensatio will not make it. I want my first place, which belongs to me considering head-to-head results and my 500 gold. 500 NOT 300. Filing a support ticket now.

All valid disputes were dealt with. If no one sent in a report that a player brought an illegal tank, then I can't punish a player. I granted you a "win" for round 7, basically moving each player up a prize bracket. So if the standings said you came in 4th place, you were paid the 3rd place prize.

Without knowing your team name, I'm afraid I can't answer why you were in 4th place if you only lost to one other player.

You are welcome to submit a Support ticket; however they will simply send you back to eSports and/or give you the same answer.

He is correct.

I too filed a dispute about the 1st place team using an illegal tank. He still got 1st place and I am guessing the extra 100 gold.

You were also the ONLY person to send in a dispute against anyone within that group. Let me repeat myself again: I can only take action if people send in disputes. Per the rules, it takes more than one dispute against an individual for them to lose all their points. Why? Because once could be an accident; more than once indicates a pattern.

At this point, there is one more Throwdown that focuses on a specific tank type this weekend. After that, I may do a tier X Throwdown. There will likely be a pause as I evaluate the Throwdown tournaments, after which they may return. Feel free to continue to leave any constructive feedback. Thank you.

I would hope your evaluation will consider that if someone breaks the rules for one battle, accident or not, they should be d/q'd from the entire tournament. Perhaps that should be the new rule.

We had this discussion a few throwdowns ago. I think they have it now as the 3 strikes clause. So if guy brings an illegal tank the whole time, and I was the only one in my bracket to report it, he auto-loses the battle with me but is still in the throwdown. I am a little more familiar with the reporting system, and knew some parts of the protocol for reporting, but I have to say once the website was redesigned, any new participant searching for the reporting process to be extremely hard to find. There has been an improvement, and now the reporting is linked into each tourney page. Good.

We need to talk though. If you are marketing the competitions to include new players, one of the easier tourney for new players to do is the throwdowns. The new players don't need to network, they won't need platoon mates; just them. Now take a look from the view of the player following the rules for a moment. In the matches they might see someone who isn't. Ok. Maybe in game "Hey did you know you brought an illegal tank" as a sportsman gesture; with a sportsman tone.(Can vary, but stick with me here.) We all know what response you would get to that; if you get any at all. Ok; fine - next step reporting. ...so unless you have dealt with reporting before it would come as a surprise that "Disputes must be submitted immediately after the round has concluded." (assuming you were able to look up the reporting info, or knew some ahead of time.) So, new player: if you missed that caveat - by the rules - the dispute does not have to be honored. Yep; so not only does it need to be emailed immediately following the round - good luck sending it in that 2 minute down-time window BTW - but it needs to have ALL of the following: In-game name of the player submitting the dispute, Name of the Tournament, Your team’s name with a link to your team’s page created for you during registration, Your opponent’s team name and a link to your opponent’s team page created during registration, Reason for dispute, An attached replay of the disputed battle(s).

So to sum up. You need:
- Replays on (which may not be)
- Other player name
- Other team name
- Tournament Name
- Your team name + your Team's Webpage
- It needs to be sent immediately following the round.

Holy bajebus. Really? If it was a new player, would you blame him for saying "Nope"?

I do understand that WG staff handling reports are very good at allowing grace periods, and are good with communication managing complaints. (I have never had a report refused because it was not sent IMMEDIATELY following the round.) The beef here is: you need to say what you mean & mean what you say. I think a change to those rules saying "within 12 hours of the conclusion of the match" is acceptable.

I find this whole process enables cheating. The over-complicated reporting system really needs a rework. There are honest mistakes being made, I get that, but someone with a clear intent on cheating could easily play the odds: will all of my opponents know the reporting process + be able to report the matches? Or will they say 'to heck with it' because the loss from 500gp to 400gp may not be worth the time to report it. Plus some may be no shows. Armed with the bracket knowledge of who is a no show, and who is a real player (yes the refresh button on the bracket showing a win after 5 seconds is helpful) the cheater just needs to play the odds. In a bracket of 8, 2 are no shows; leaving 5 real battles. You bring the legit tank to the supposed no shows, to show some effort of legitimacy. Run the other 5 in the illegal tank, banking on 2 of the 5 reporting you and the others not caring enough. That still earns you 300 if you're a good player!

Still getting a payout while cheating doesn't really send a good message.

Feedback:

1. Love the time. This is during my play time. I am available from 2pm-5pm Eastern each day and it is nice to have an event for other like me. CW and other tournaments are just to late due to work.

2. 1 v 1 is nice sometimes as there is no need to depend on others to show up.

3. Issue with players bringing the incorrect tank. Should be a way to Technical Defeat a player that ready ups the incorrect tank.

4. Issue with no-shows getting paid gold. Should have a minimum number of games won or minimum points earn to place and receive payment.

5. Personal opinion : Change the map. There is  little strategy on Mittengard. Often time it comes down to RNG. I realize that with 1v1 it needs to be a small map to decrease the number of draws. Maybe bring back Providence for this tourney or mix in some other small maps.

Well my feedback is: I won 1st place, was put in 4th. A cheating guy cheated+got lucky on round 7 and was awarded 1st place and 100 gold bonus.

After all rigged campaigns, T-22sr scam, cheats etc it's just in line with WG's general attitude towards players.

Gumberto wrote a good reply but i quoted this part to emphasis it. But honestly none of this is good enough. You need to be able to prevent the cheaters from using the wrong tanks in the first place.

On the positive though, i think the 1v1 throwdown is a good format. It's especially more receptive to players like me, players who aren't in a clan and/or only play random battles. I don't have to worry about finding a team; and even if i suck, i'm not letting anyone else down. If you can improve the anti-cheating, i'm sure you will see more players participating. Also, it wouldn't hurt to advertise it more strongly. I didn't even know about most of these.

I love the 1 v 1 format.

I hate that you cant block the idiots who load up the wrong tank. Really who thinks an OI is a TD.

I learned 1 thing from this fiasco. That is to have my email set up with my info and only copy and paste in the idiots info, attach the replay and send.

Since it is a basic email I have them ready to go for every battle. Takes me all of 30 second to start sending them.

Nice when you run dual screens as I can get it out in nothing flat.

It would be nice to see these weekly.

Oh and it would be nice to see in HUGE letters that if you screw up and bring the wrong tank your are zeroed out for the tourney even if you switch to the correct one.
