Personal opinion, people rarely play tanks the way the devs designed them (roles); and the Sandbox server is a good place to gen some ideas to give the tanks something like their original roles. I am thinking more game modes might be a way to play tanks in their intended roles. Missions instead of capture the flag battles. escort\ambush the AI personal carriers; support the beach landing (or air drop); destroy the bunkers; etc. Make the tanks perform their roles by creating missions where we need to play the tank that way to succeed. At some point these missions could be strung together into chains. Like the current missions these "operations" might lead to a special reward vehicle (or crew member). Otherwise you can tweak a tank 100 different ways and players will still use it the way they normally do. And if that tank now performs poorly because of the way they are playing it due to changes, they will just switch to a tank that plays better. If light tanks are supposed to be played as scouts, give them scout missions (operations). Sitting in a bush is boring and there has to be a reward for doing it. to contribute to the team success. What else can artillery do ? Give them different rounds (colored smoke or flares) so that they can be more flexible. I truly think more role-specific operations is the way to see tanks in their roles as designed. thanks for listening.

you can have all of these different role based training/missions avail to a player, it really comes down to attitude.  Don't feed trolls, and don't fan flamers.

A tanks role in battle changes, as the battle unfolds most tanks in this game can be played in multiple ways and multiple roles. Yes there are some tanks that are best suited playing one role. I like your idea of wg creating game modes to teach/practice this. But the biggest thing is players learning the roles and how to play them.   Checkout  4TankersAndDog's  video series  tanking 201 Role playing    He did a great job explaining the roles in battle

I wanna attack infantry held strong points and towns. Reds have no tanks just ant-tank weapons.  I wanna blast em with HE coming outta the barrel of my M4 Sherman....just like the role it had in WWII IRL.  I would like to see little pixel guys flying thru the air but I doubt that would be allowed. I wanna roll over and thru em laying waste. I wanna grease the treads of my tank with their guts just like Gen Patton told me I was gonna get to do when I arrived in England. When I reach over and put my hand in the goo that was my gunner's face....well then I will know what to do.  And years down the road with my grandchild sitting on my knee when he/she asks me what I did in the big war I won't have to say, ahem, well I shoveled sh#t in Louisiana.

I am outta control this morning.

When are they going to bring back the LeFH18B2 (French premium Artillery)? The last time it was on sale I did not have the $$ to buy it, and now I regret it. I have been waiting ever since then for it to be put back up for sale again, but I haven't seen it yet. I check the premium shop every day whenever I log in and whenever I get ready to log out for the day. Please, bring back the LeFH for another sale.

Does Wargaming have any plans to set up a new play mode, like co-op PvE missions? I feel this mode would give pubbers (pub-match players) a better understanding on how to play as a team and coordinate with other players. This might also help players better understand the different roles each tank and tank type should play in a real PvP match.

I think everyone needs to play nothing but Russian tanks, that will make the developers so happy because they have tweaked the game to favor those tanks and would appreciate us realizing that.

1)  Smoke.  Need to charge across a TD watched field?  Fire smoke and get in there.  It simultaneously gives away somebody must have just fired, somebody may be advancing, and hiding that advance, so nice balance and all very historically accurate.

2)  Have a battle chat window INSIDE the post game stat window so you can continue communicating with the teams until you close the post game stat window.

3)  When an artillery piece fires, it's muzzle blast can be heard for miles around.  Make 6th Sense standard with any 100% Commander, and add a  Arty Warning sense as a new Perk.

4)  All arty should be shorter range, more rapidly firing, and less damaging (no 1-shots EVER), and along with #1 above able to shoot smoke.  GIVE them that recent hack options of shooting basically straight up, the time-on-target is insanely long so I really don't see it as a huge benefit (especially if we're talking Bert grade damage, not CGC), and it gives them something useful to do on city maps.

5)  Make tank traction realistic on pavement.  Himmelsdorf cobble stones should be crazy slippery even just to accelerate, and even worse for the Winter map.  This would be fun, funny, and realistic.

6)  Have all weather modes for all maps, and then have each server cluster dish out maps based upon a range centered on the real regional weather.  So generally we see winter maps in winter, and could even go further and deliver rainy maps when it's literally raining predominantly in the server data center's region.

7)  Only a percentage of a tank's ammo load-out should be allowed to be Gold ammo.  Historical would be something like 5-10%, but I would gladly accept 20, 33, 40...don't go over 50%, sorry but that's just silly money grubbing.

8)  Don't allow people to play Gold tanks of a higher tier than they have organically researched.  Want to play that nifty new IS-6 your brother bought you for your birthday?  Awesome, soon as your account unlocks ANY Tier8 tank from the tech-tree you're more than welcome to do it, until then it's a Garage Ornament.

9)  Have some real pay-outs and fix the damn PR bug in Personal Battles.  It's a very fun game mode and can help skim the cream off the top of the random pool to cut back on the pub seal clubbers, but currently you're actively discouraging people from playing it for some inexplicable reason.

10)  Shut down NA West, move it to Kansas City and Set up the new NA North.  Shutdown NA East and re-use it's hardware for a new NA South in...how about Rio, should be cheap left over server farm infrastructure after the Olympics.

11)  Much like how XVM shows colors for tanker's stats in the battle screen's squad rosters, add a simple and clean set of stars next to each name for the MOE's they have in the tank they are driving.

12)  And lastly, finally give some love to your Youtube Streamers like me.  Twitch's image quality is so bad it makes me cry...

This mode - if correctly implemented - could do something even better than that - it could keep people playing and enjoying themselves on days when the MM keeps giving out lemons.

For instance: Let's say I log on WoT and get 6 loss games in a row in several different tanks. Not having any success or fun. So I log out, go to that Other Game, and play a half a dozen or so PVE matches where I know I can always win and farm credits.

Is it as good of a game? No. Is it as challenging and fun? No. Are the graphics as good? No. Do I like it as much? No.

So why did I go there? For the same reason that Forza Motorsport 3 allows you to set the difficulty level of the cars you race against: because you want some challenge, but constantly losing gets old quick.

WG could implement a PVE mode with say 4 levels of computer opponent tanks you could choose to go up against. Easy would equal red level tanks, but you only get 75% of normal payout in credits & XP. Moderate would equal yellow level tanks and have 85% of normal payout in credits & XP. Hard would equal green level tanks and give 95% of credits & XP.  Max would equal a mix of green & purple tanks and give 105% payout in credits & XP. Or some sort of similar arrangement, you get the idea.
The point is, WG has provided a way for frustrated players to not rage quit the game for the day and go somewhere else to play, they stay in WoT and go play in a mode that provides some level of satisfaction instead of just exiting out in disgust.

Another possibility is that a lot of perpetual tomatoes will be perfectly happy to stay in PVE all the time, and the rest of the game play will be better off for not having them.

What's not to like?

I was wondering if there is any update on this request? I don't have a premium arty to train up the skills on my French crews with, and this tank would be perfect for farming both credits and crew experience. Please sell it again (even if it is for a brief period).

They already have role-based training/missions available Danglebeef. Look in the top-left corner and select missions - then select the campaign missions. Following the guidelines for those missions will help you undertand the roles of your different tank types. It could even help you get some ideas on a few tricks you didn't realize (i.e. counter-arty fire and passive/active spotting).
