Hi guys!

I have updated the eSports calendar for July, and want to make sure that everyone understands what's happening.

So, what's happening? Community tournaments are taking a different direction starting the last week of June and into July. There will be fewer tournaments run and they will no longer happen every day.

Why? This will allow us to focus on the tournaments that are running. Having one large tournament should allow us to better hype that tournament...and maybe do some cool things, like spotlighting the winning team in an article.

Sadly, this means that some of our favorite tournaments, like the Skirmish, Weekday Warfare and Weekend Warrior, will no longer be happening in July. Others, like the Call to Arms for clans and the 1v1 Throwdown will continue.

During July, there will be two new tournaments added, the Platournaments and the Summer Play tournament at the end of the month.

That's what's happening. Feel free to discussion our July tournaments and ask any questions here. Disagreements and constructive feedback are fine, but make sure to keep it civil.

This doesn't make much sense to me. If they're the favorites, then why would we be getting rid of them? Also, is this going to mean a permanent removal of these tournaments, or will they be coming back? The new tournaments look pretty interesting, so I guess I'll just wait to see how those go. :P

Is this just the end of June and all of July, or will this be the new format going forward into August, September and so on?

Unfortunately (in my opinion) you are discontinuing some of the best tournaments available, so I will be sad. I really hate the single-day tournaments, but enjoy working my way through various obstacles (i.e. multi-day events, team variety, tank or map variety, etc.). So if you're removing them, I guess I just won't be playing tournaments any more.

Question: Are you trying to drive away people, or just force them into feed troughs?

x.

Taking away tournaments that are 1 day only is killer. Most of my players are adults with wives, jobs and children. Most of us can't regularly do more than 1 day at a time. After running in hundreds of tournaments, losing this gold income after losing gold on on-tracks may finally drive me away from this game. I am going to try the new tournaments, and give them an honest shot. But if they impose on real life to much it may be curtains for us. Are there any links to the setups and lengths of the new tournaments?

Agreed, the one day tournaments were a great addition.  The small team size also opened up tournament participation to many players who would otherwise not try them at all.  Very disappointed to see them being removed.

Unknown. Right now, these are only planned for July. Like all our tournaments, I'll keep an eye on how they go and player feedback before deciding anything for August.

There is still a multi-day tournament at the end of the month, the Summer Play tournament. The idea behind the Summer Play tournament is to try having one single, large tournament that we could focus a lot of attention on. Will it work...I can't answer that until July.

And I agree, those were (are) some of my favorite tournaments, especially the Skirmish which I participated in before joining WG.

The Platournaments, Call to Arms and 1v1 Throwdown are all one-day tournaments. The main difference between the Platournament and Stand-To (other than the name) is that the former is only offered twice a week while the latter ran every day.

If dance thinks this is for the best then so be it. But dance please give me more 1v1's cus I always seem to come in 1st place when I do them. So being spotlighted would be nice :)

Dance...wel.. As someone who play every stand to and skirmish of this year, client who pay for tanks and premium time... i just wanna say this is sad.

Maybe thinking... Wg do A REALLY BAD decision (obvius never check with the players first, you change it after you see)... i am saying.. wg make this decision for no give gold and premium days for the players? For give less? I know so many people who enjoy stand to and skimish and you remove this tournaments? wth
I know people who only play tournaments and no cw or strongholds like my entire clan... You kill some of the most funny of this game... really bad decision in my opinion.

Was really dificult organize the players for play every week and now you change the days and hours of the tournaments... no way... I just see less tournaments, less days and hours... less prizes... who cares about face a wgteam... the people play for funny between each others and gold. If you wanna play better teams you can play the preseason league or Call to arms. You put a "special" t62a tournament... but you remove skirmish??????? my god. I am trying to not be offensive but is like you never care what players say... Skirmish is an amazing tournament... why you killed? Dont tell us "focus on the tournaments that are running" we dont play for marketing for spot on the page, for an article or things like that. Like Aprillfool say the people who are fathers, have son, times, jobs... they pay and connect to the game in very specific times for play tournaments... this kill a portion of that people who play that. Remember.

Maybe is time for no play this anymore.

I am just going to say, this has basically killed any interest I had in this game. I will wait to see how the two new tournaments pan out, but I do not foresee myself having much interest in this game anymore.

As it stands I only log in because skirmishes exist, and I really enjoy playing them. I love the week long tournaments, sure its only an hour of play each day but its extremely fun. I do not like this decision at all but I will wait to see how the two new tournaments pan out however. Though like I said with the removal of the week long format one I feel as if my interest in this game will just disappear.

I have to ask. Does WG like killing off every popular aspect of their game? First it was CW and now its tournaments, its almost like WG wants to alienate its player-base here on NA.

I am very sad to hear that the skirmish tournaments will no longer be offered.  Those tournaments were the single most important reason for me to continue playing the game.  I have about 100 tanks in my garage all bc I wanted to get all the best tourney tanks.  I just hope these new tournaments can live up to the standards of the skirmish tournaments.

RIP skirmishes...we will all miss you

Lol, cutting corners on players.  Clanwars is already past the defib point on the tier 10 map.  I have a feeling we wont see many nights with 30k+ players anymore.

Tournaments cater to good players, as it should, and now that is being removed?  Well, I think players are just going to migrate to EU at this point, or probably just not play anymore

I don't need to go to gosu, I meet you almost every week. And I can bet all your farmed gold, you spent $0.00 this year on premium time and tanks LOL
