How you'd fix WoT if you could?

I'm on Sandbox, but I am not impressed by how they are doing it and what they are testing.  I really have less and less confidence that this Sandbox thing will bring something good out of it.

It is also mostly played by RU and EU players, so what we want on NA probably will never be implemented.

 

So, I have decided to make a 'dream thread' about how we could fix the game quickly so we could at least enjoy it more than it is now.

Tell us how you'd do it in a few easy steps.

 

For my part, I would start with 9.15 and change this:

 

1) Would lower RNG to +/- 10% on penetration rolls only : we have to bring back skill into the game as a deciding factor, not rng

2) Revert back gun dispersion to pre 9.6 : so that precise gun would remain precise at long range

3) MM : +1/-1 : no more non-sense face-off between an Easy 8 and an IS-3 or any other stupid confrontation.

3.5) MM : After the 30 tanks are picked, rebalance teams according to tank types : no more all heavies on one side and all mediums on the other side

4) Re-insert all maps that were removed, and add rampage-only map to pub

5) Restrict the number of gold round to 10-15% of maximum loadout

6) Arty : max of 1 arty per side (no arty platoons) ; no arty on city maps; no slow (<30 kph) tanks on open maps with arty (or no arty when slow tanks are assigned to an open map)

7) Allow unlimited access to all the areas on the maps (remove invisible walls) : this would change the game and allow new ways to conduct the fights on some maps - and it would be refreshing

 

X) I would merge NA west and NA east together in a central location to both side of NA : bigger population, 1 server = more fun

1 thing would be to make the game less about doing damage so that people don't focus on squarely doing the damage and instead do things that would contribute to winning.

Remove arty and make grinding a little bit easier for newer players that are free2playing.

OP gets a sandbox invite?  He has been playing for barely 1 year, has no tier Xs.  (No offense intended OP, I'm sure you are a good player) 

 

I've been here since 2011, playing nearly every day and on the forums a lot and I don't get an invite...  Lame.

To the OP's question.

 

1.  Remove health pools.  Or at least cut them all in half.

2.  Cut RNG in half.

3.  Make APCR do less damage than AP

4.  Incorporate smoke shells (with a limit of 2 per battle)

5.  Open up the corridor maps

6.  Remove the red outlines 

7.  Remove draw range.

8.  Remove arty GOD view, boost arty reload, nerf arty damage a LOT

9.  Make separate games for platoons and randoms 

10.  Make dynamic maps (I have posted extensively on how this could happen)

11.  Reflect damage 

12.  Model crews

13.  Make co-axial guns funtional so they can kill arty and open TD crews

Chill dude, it is random. I just got my invite this morning.

 

#1 Put all the maps back into the rotation, wouldn't even rebalance them, it adds to the challenge.

 

#2 Nerf premium round pen on top guns only, possibly reduce dmg as well, buff AP pen on tanks that need it (Maus, E100, etc).

 

#3 Tighten up the accuracy, no need for +/- 1mm if your shots actually go where you aim for them to go, 10% rng for pen is good IMO.

 

#4 Remove arty, return all the credits and XP that the arty owners put into the lines so they can free xp a new line if they wish.

thank you!  I didn't know it was random, I assumed that there was some methodology behind it.

1. Leave Arty alone and let them enjoy the game like all the other clickers.

2. Give Arty decent accuracy & reload.

3. Give Arty full exp earned just like the other clickers.

4. Add more tanks to Chinese & Japanese tech trees.

I'd introduce the KV-220 (Not the KV-220-2)

 

KV-3 Hull

T-150 Upgraded Turret

85mm F-30

550HP

(Basically a stock KV-3)

Tier 4 Super Pref MM Premium Tank, and only I can have one

That would fix WoT for me, at least my Win Rate...

 

keeping in WG's stance from the T-22 "It's not broken because only a few of them are in play", thus my tank isn't broken, because there's only 1... :)

Make 5% RNG pen 

Its nice to have maus driver rage when I high roll a pen and go up through the upper plate

Spawn all artillery over 20m deep water with no way out.

 

I mean it's inevitable anyway, why not at the beginning of the game?

my apologies about the tier Xs but one is an arty...

yeah I would still pick me, 5k games in one year means you still have less than half my battle count.  And way less experience as to how the game has evolved.

Increase RNG to +/- 35%  (just to hear the wailing)

 

Bring back ammo sales
