@RetroMan55, the rules for disputing illegal tanks for the 1v1 changed recently. They went from the standard "3 disputes and you are out" (what you faced in the Skirmish) to "1 dispute and you are out".
Additionally, people have to actually dispute people who are using illegal tanks. If they don't file proper disputes then the people bringing illegal tanks aren't dealt with.
I have danced with dance210 many times on this particular instance, and the overall problem. In the Skirmish I mentioned I personally know of 3 team captains that reported this particular team. I have never seen a more blatant use of illegal tanks in any of the many events I have participated in. I'm sure there were many others who also reported this team for using 4 illegal Chaffees ALL week in every battle. They were NOT DQ'd. In fact they received 500 gold and 5 days of Premium and pushed my team out of the prize group by 1 place.
For me, and many of the captains I know, it is just plain lazy to not at least check what this team did in that and other battles with the raising of a single red flag on a specific team - let alone from three captains spread over three days. But none of the many reported teams were DQ'd. I know this because my team was on the line for 500 gold and 5 days of Premium Time going into the last day, and we stayed in exactly that same position at the end. Clearly, no teams were DQ'd. Due to this, some of our players quit doing tournaments completely and I will not, and have not, lead a team in any other Skirmishes since.
If WG has changed this from 3 to 1, good for them. It's about time. It doesn't take long for captains to check out the competition, shouldn't take long for WG to ferret out cheaters and lay some kind of ban or punishment on them. It's not like there are 10,000 teams to check out. If they can keep track of which tanks we have bought and sold, and how many trees we have knocked down in every game we have ever played, it shouldn't be that hard to weed out a dozen or two cheaters who have been reported by 3 or more captains.
I also think the replay requirement should be changed to include a screen-shot going into the battle and another of the after action report. Takes up far less hard drive space and this allows the game to run better than recording replays of every game "in case" someone else is cheating. Plus they are easier to delete later. Some have said people will photoshop screenshots, that would be stupid and easy enough for WG to check. If they do, then two cheaters have been caught trying to pull the wool over WG's eyes.
Not doing anything, and rewarding this team and others with gold and premium time doesn't send the right message for the rest of us who adhere to the rules.
Now if we can get them to quit putting weaker teams on the "bad side" of maps for all battles of the night - especially against teams that are substantially higher rated (making it a brick wall impossible to overcome), then maybe the participation will go up.
