All active tournaments can be found by searching the Tournaments Home Page. Interested in what we having coming up? Check out the July  calendar!

A player has two ways to register for the Platournaments! When you create the team, make sure that you are using the correct registration!

  • Register as a Team!
    • Registration works the same as normal.
    • Team captain makes a team and recruits players to join.
    • A complete team has 3 - 4 players.
    • Captains do not need to submit their team; all teams with the minimum number of players will be accepted.
    • The team is now ready to fight once the tournament starts!
  • Register as a Solo player or as part of a Party!
    • A party is a group of players that does not meet the minimum team size requirements.
    • Create a team. Teams do not need to be confirmed; all players will be accepted for the Solo/Party Registration.
    • Once registration has closed, the player will be combined with other solo player(s) and/or a party to form a complete team
    • After registration has closed, players are encouraged to check back to find their new team!

So how do you register as a solo player? It's easy! When you create a team, there will be Registration Option with a drop down menu. Simply switch from Register Team to Register Solo and you are ready to go!

Haha you still have to sign up Scorpiany! You just don't need to make a team...I'll do that for you. You can teach any new people how to tournament  ;)

it's like match-up melee with the option of it not being match-up melee... I guess that works.

Speaking of match-up melee, where did those go?

It's like Match-Up Melee, but with smaller teams! Here's to hoping that the others show up of course. Then I can help them win dank Gold!

As @Kirbymar mentioned; what did happen to Mach-Up Melee? I haven't seen one of those in a while. I loved them!

Hey dance, I was just wondering. I know there's another topic for discussing. But in light of the prizes

If this is BASICALLY the same as Stand-Tos: why the payouts cut? If I win, why do I get 150 less? If I come in 2nd, why 100 *50 less?

If WG wants to reward more teams, by giving more teams prizes, great BUT that's its business. It CAN'T be other teams' problem.

Or was the tourney change a way to just "rebalance" the gold payouts?

I was wondering this too.  If the prizes for 1st and 2nd were to be adjusted so that they were the same as the original 1st and 2nd prizes of the Stand-to, then I wouldn't have too much of a problem with these platotournaments.   In fact, I really like the name and the idea.  But its not fair the the teams that consistantly do well to nerf the gold payout without a reason. At least say something like, "We felt we were awarding too much gold", because then at least there is a reason.

It's just hard to be hyped for these new tournaments when the prizes (especially in the summer play) are subpar.  March Madness worked because the prizes were insane.

Members of my team will not be participating in these events, in protest.  Echoing what the other tournament teams in our community have already said, we want the regular daily Stand-Tos and Weekday Warfare back!

Will there be any penalty for no-shows?. Someone who signs up solo and just hopes the team he gets assigned to qualifies for some gold even though he doesn't make any more effort than signing up. If 2 show up and the others don't they get screwed. We can allow for team mates that can't make a night on regular tourneys, but this is a new animal. Solo players won't know if their team mates are there until the battle pops and they're the only one in it. At least a no show for a 1 day pop in tourney shouldn't get the gold that the team earns, and possibly be restricted from future platournaments.

With the new TMS, it hasn't been possible to run the Match-up Melee tournaments. The new TMS is being updated on a regular basis, so I'm waiting for a special feature to be introduced. Once that arrives, I'm hoping to bring back the Match-up Melee tournaments again :)

The format is the same between the Stand-To and Platournaments - single day round robin. The prizes aren't the same because they are two different tournaments. Since introducing a new tournament is a good time to try different things with prizing, we decided to try slightly smaller prizes with more winners per tournament.

Thanks for finally answering.

Like I said, that's a great move but it CAN'T be the problem of the teams finishing 1-2-3. Those should get the same prizes.

I hope the worst level of participation will let you guys -the ones that decide at WG- understand that it was a WRONG move and a way to fuel the dying process (?) of this -once great- game.

I joined both the  Early Platournament 7.7.16  and the  Platournament 7.7.16 as a solo.  Went to drive home from work at 4:30pm EST and alternator or something was gone so had to call CAA and after the tow etc, I didn't get home until 9:15pm EST so I missed the early Platournament. I was signed in prior to the 9:30pm EST start time for the other one but it looks like I wasn't placed on a team. It just said registration closed. Then at 9:30pm it said "in progress" and I got no popup. Is this by design?
