Quick update: at long last, compatibility between my nation packs & the new in-game customization system is here! It requires a little tinkering to get working, but it solves the discoloration issues nonetheless (for both paints and camouflages). I've put together a guide on how to get it working with whatever pack(s) you may have installed, which you can check on the dedicated info page here. Enjoy, and happy holidays!

Alrighty, as it's patch day, I suppose an update is due! This time around, I've got an important announcement concerning remodels (for realsies?!), as well as updates for patch 0.9.22 (including all of the newly HD-ified vehicles [yes, including the duck], more packs transitioning to HD textures, tweaks/updates/fixes, etc.), the release of a new pack for US vehicles (Thunderbolt Green), another rework for the Japanese Reddish-Brown pack (as previewed in the previous patch's updates), and more! Check everything out here: https://classicswotw...k-v3-more-feb-7

Although this isn't quite the right place to ask (as they aren't things I made), I believe most of these were either scrapped entirely or just went unreleased. A few of them are also outdated at this point - both ST-I and Obj 907 are already both officially HD, for one, and others were updated since that article was posted (i.e. T-34-3). All of Milky's released content can be found on his website: https://milkym4n.com/, so in general, if it isn't there, it probably isn't released.

Hey Classic, I was wondering if you knew what happened to Milkym4n? His thread is locked, his site is down, and I can't find any info. It's a big hit to the mod/skinning community if he's really gone :(

Glad to see you're still up and kicking! <3

Love the paint jobs. Question will the new paint jobs (not the remodels) work with the SD version of the game? Sorry if this has been asked before.

Right, so I realized I completely forgot to update/check the forum thread after the patch hit... oops! Needless to say, though, I'm back (again). Sorry for the wait!

Not quite sure what you mean there, but if you're talking about the texture loading issue, I've found that textures for modified parts don't seem to load correctly in-battle if any of said parts' models have been changed (i.e. if the chassis model was changed, the textures on the chassis wouldn't load in battle). One workaround for this which currently seems to work is to rename all the textures on parts with modified models (both the texture .dds files themselves and the paths to them in the .visual_processed). If you're having other issues with remodels, then I'm not really sure what to do there, as that was one of two main problems I noticed which came about in 1.0 (the other being the new .VT files for hit decals/inscriptions/etc).

Thanks! They should work fine with the SD version of the game, as they replace the standard textures. :)

I've also got a couple quick announcements to make: Firstly, as of this Friday, March 30th, everything has been updated to work with update 1.0. I had made a post about updates for 1.0 here, but I was informed that a bunch of my skins/remodels weren't working at the time, so I went back through and updated all of the broken ones. I'm planning on writing another post on my websitewith this appended list of updates in the next few days, but for now, check my Github page to see what has been updated since the 1.0 Update Notes post.

Secondly, I'm proud to announce the beginning of an upcoming project: The Dakka Improvement Project!

I've got a full post on it over on the site, including the first remodel of the project: the SU-100Y Superfortress!

Download/read all about it here: https://classicswotw...ovement-project

Oh yeah, and one final thing: Happy 1st of April! ;)

How about German captured KV-2 (Pz.Kpfw KV-II 754( r ) ) instead of "Ragnarok" KV-2?

Yes, I know that's your remod. I just adopted it for "Ragnarok" KV-2.

Here is it.

Aha, thank you! I had been hoping to make an official version for the Ragnarok KV-2, but I've been a bit short on spare time lately. :honoring: Mind if I include a link to that on the download page, until I get around to officially updating the mod? (I have some more plans for the model in the future, which should hopefully see the light of day fairly soon.)

Quick update, while I'm here -- unfortunately, I've had to delay the initial release of the Dakka Improvement Project for a little while (it was meant to be released last week, but due to some unforeseen circumstances, the release has been pushed back until update 1.0.2 is released, if not shortly afterwards). However, the British Bronze Green pack has received a major update, including 27 all-new vehicles, the transition to .wotmod format, some extra mod support, and more! Read all about it here: https://classicswotw...ck-announcement . (Note: If you've installed the previous version of the Bronze Green pack in the past, be sure to uninstall the old version from res_mods before installing this one. Files in res_mods have loading priority over those in the mods folder, meaning that the old res_mods version would overwrite the new one, causing it not to work correctly.)

Whoops, almost forgot to update the thread! Quite a lot has happened since last -- the Dakka Improvement Project has seen both its' first release and major update, a new remodel for the K-91 has been released, things have been updated for 1.0.2, and more! In case you haven't already (which you might've, if you've been keeping up with the site), check it all out here: https://classicswotw...es-for-102-more And for more details on the second release of the Dakka Improvement Project (bringing the total vehicle count up to 50), check here: https://classicswotw...wave-2-released (NOTE: If you have any suggestions for vehicles you'd like to see included in the Dakka Improvement Project, feel free to let me know in this thread, and I'll see about potentially adding them to the next roster!)

Oh, and one other thing (alithough, this is already mentioned in the 1.0.2 update post above): customization support has (annoyingly) broken once again for my packs, since a few more base colors were added to the default_colors.xml file (I assume in order to support the Firefly VC & T26E3 "Eagle 7" ). If you've previously installed any of my packs and used the guide to fix customization, please redownload the default_colors.xml file and repeat the process again, as the game will not function correctly otherwise. Apologies for the inconvenience, but what WG does with the file system is (obviously) out of my control, so all I can do is update stuff as soon as I find out. (By the way, huge thanks to Avalon for letting me know of the issue!)

Well, drat... unfortunately, it appears as though WG has once again changed the default_colors.xml file used for fixing customization with my color packs. If you've used this fix in the past, you will have to download the new version of the file from here (hyperlinked) and repeat the process. (If you don't have a clue what I'm referring to, here's the page explaining it in more detail.:P ) Once again, my apologies for any inconvenience this may cause (man, that's starting to sound super repetitive by now, I know... ), but it's something that's out of my control.

Just an FYI, in your UK Bronze-Green pack you are missing part 4, the Tier 5 tanks.

A new recolor pack release is here -- this time, a semi-historical color for Poland by the name of Szarozielony (a.k.a. Gray-Green)! Check it out here: https://classicswotw...en-recolor-pack

Everything else should work fine as of yesterday's micropatch (1.0.2.4) -- all you'll need to do is move them to the correct version folders as usual. One thing to note, though, for color pack users who've applied the customization fix previously -- by the time Update 1.1 is released, you will either need to redownload/rebuild the default_colors.xml file (again, I know... sorry, but there isn't very much I can do about it), or copy over the Polish color to your existing file. The latter can be done by following the instructions in this spoiler:

Spoiler

Technically, you do not need to do this right away, but it shouldn't hurt to do it ahead of time. (Better to get it out of the way anyways, in my opinion, rather than waiting until the patch day, forgetting about it, and having the game act up on you [which, I'll be the first to admit, I've had happen waaaaaay too many times before :P ].) Regardless, you will need to do this by the time Update 1.1 is released, as the game is otherwise likely to go a little bit... wonky, to say the least. Apologies for the inconvenience!

Spoiler

Anyway, hope you guys enjoy the new pack! As always, stay tuned for more, and good luck on the battlefield! :honoring:

Hi mate, thx for your great work , I am using nearly all of your skin packs and the tanks looking great with them.

With your new "The Dakka Improvement Project" you give us another great upgrade for that game.

What do you think about that:  The new italian tree  has nearly all tanks developed during WWII up to the  P.44 Pantera, which was influenced from the german Panther tank.

I have the Dakka Project files for these tanks installed and had seen that the WWII tanks have the german post war FLA MG  MG3, the post war derivative version of the famous WWII MG42

on top. Here I have a little suggestion: for me personally it would look a bit more historical if the WWII tanks would have the italian BREDA SAFAT  MG on top, which ypu could take from the low tier italian tanks.

This is only a little suggestion, maybe you find it a great idea, if not it's no prob, your work is great anyway.

Greetz,

Saburo
