Long and ridiculous losing streaks are the worst part of the game for me. Honestly, that was what turned me off the game completely. *Now, [when I do play...which I admit isn't often..] if I lose more than 3 battles in a row, I quit and log out. And yes, I do try my hardest in each and every battle.. and I never give up, but I just don't have the patience or the stomach for the 'gaming S&M' anymore.

This is it pretty much.

Arty is a none issue, and those who are always crying about it really are just whiners. There are 15 people on your team, and maybe 1-3 arties who can get off a shot 1-2 per minute in a 4-5 minute game. In short, they are a non-issue for those who know how to use hard cover, keep moving, and do not camp. Will you occasionally be hit by an arty in a game? Sure. However, that is hardly the biggest problem.

That being said, the losing streaks are the bigger issue. When you are playing 5-10 games and you have a team of all reds and terribads versus green and higher neckbeards. You do not have to see the percentages in XVM to know hat this will be over in 3 minutes. Those games are the WG classic where 50% of your team is vaporized in 90 seconds. The rest try and squeak out  some damage or a win against impossible odds. You get 3-5 of those type of absolute crap games in a row, you need to quit and come back some other day. Eventually, you stop coming back.

Voted, would also add that the game simply isn't fun nor is it entertaining when 70%(ish) of the games are blowout meaningless games for either side for a variety of reason/issues that WG knows about but doesn't care and won't care until the $ dries up.

Edit:

WG/WGNA condones cheating, see T-22 as the latest example.

Stacked teams and completely bogus RNG. They've got the same problem in World of Warplanes and World of Warships as well.

No wonder neither of them took off either. It's a shame too, because World of Warships is a really, really cool game. Far better than World of Tanks ever was.

And WOWS just redid their MM "rules" with the Bastion update IIRC, wonder why....................

All that did was fix the really bad numbers matchups at higher tiers. People were getting games where it would be 2 against 5. It was just awful.

They didn't do a thing about the lopsided wipeout matches that happen like they do here and they never will.

Arty, no maps, rng, arty, mm, arty, WG's greed and apathy towards player concerns, bad teams, bad special events, exclusive clan tanks that 2% of players can get, sandbox, no promise of improvement whatsoever. Oh yeah and arty

I know right, the first moving and firing tank I saw was an M60 at Fort Drum, NY in 1989/90.  WG gave them to kids not even born via Clam Wars.

Arty, maybe game stagnentation.

All of the others on that list are completely non issues (anyone who says its mods dont have opinions worth listening to, frankly mods make the game better for the most part, if anything)

Now, whats killing the game more than anything are the things that Top players are sick of. Artillery first and formost. Second would be the new clan wars, along with the lack of engaging, fun, end game content. (end gane was a lot more fun a few years back than it is now) Its just not good. Third would probably be RNG, or the game getting stagnent (related to both arty and Clan wars)

Now, a lot of these are non issues for the average player, but consider this: the game lives on its end game. Its an MMO, and MMOs at heart have always been about end game. Once you have "completed" the game, you need enough content at the end to keep you playing. this is a thing all MMOs need to have and struggle to keep. In WoTs case, its clan wars, tournaments, conpetitive league play. Etc.

Now, if the people at the top get bored, or sick of it, or annoyed at things that arent being fixed that direly need fixing (cough, arty, Cough) they will get bored or burned out and leave. So then the next band down becomes the new top players. They keep it up and then they get burned out for the same reasons, they leave. Third band down becomes new top, they get sick and leave. Etc etc. Eventually you get left with the people who dont play those modes, just fart around in pubs, so those modes die, then the population starts declining so that peolple cant play pubs any more due to population starvation. They leave, and the game dies.

Currently, On NA we are probably through the second band of top players starting to leave. 2 years ago the top 10 clans were all purely purple, now its barely the top 5, or even top 3.

This is on NA though, on EU and RU the game is still extremely strong.

Currently, there are two things that need to be addressed ASAP. Like it or not, no matter what you think of it, artillery is the main one. There are enough threads on the topic to show that, even if hordes of people try to defend it, its a massive problem with this game. A good 3/4 of my friends who play this game have left because of reasons that artillery has played a large part in. Wargaming needs to find a solution that is fair to both sides of the argument, as much as Im all for just outright removing it, it will just cause a mass exodus on the opposite end of the skill spectrum, and while it honestly would improve the game in the long term, I would imagine it wouldnt survive long enough short term to break through to the long term benefits. A solution needs to be found so that it doesnt directly punish skilled play, is avoidable by doing things other than camping behind a rock is possible to defend against, but fair to the artillery player as well, so he doesnt have to rely on RNG to do damage or not.its a hard task to undertake, and needs to make both sides happy.

Next issue is, frankly, RNG itself. This game is an Esport, and while most games have some RNG factor. WoTs is too high.

Simple solution: lower it, it shouldnt be higher than 15%. Second: address scenarios where you can be on 450hp, with a 400 alpha gun, see an enemy on 350hp, with a 400 alpha gun, shoot him, low roll for 330, and then have him turn around and shoot you for and high roll to kill you.  Those situations suck. And arent fair, you lose because RNG said so, not because you were outplayed.
Third: making tanks less accurate like on sandbox isnt the answer. That just increases the roll RNG has and decreases the roll actual skill has.
Fourth: gold rounds. A lot of people dont understand the reason people use gold. Its not to autopen, its to lower the effects of RNG. Yes you should pen that guys lower plate with AP, but not if your pen rolls low, which it does. Even on light tanks, its why you can bounce dumb shots that shouldnt bounce and pen dumb shots that shouldnt pen. Someone penned my IS-7s turret once with a HEAT shell from his E5. His max pen roll is 400 something. My IS-7s turret was just below 400 in the spot he penned, so he got a max pen roll.

On the flip side, bouncing a JPE shell from the side because he got a minimum pen roll is just as stupid.

Honestly, fixing these issues will breath some life back into this game, and then we can go from there. But these are the main problems and are causing the most people to leave. All sandbox has to do is nail these two issues, and we'll be good.
