Let the "Throwdown" begin! With the popularity of our weekly Saturday Throwdown's, we have decided to double the fun! Each Thursday there will be a 1v1 Throwdown at 5 pm PT / 8 pm ET. However, these tournaments will focus on specific tiers. This week, we are going large and in charge with tier IX tanks! Heavy, medium, TD or even a light or arty - which will you choose to emerge victorious?

skoda t50 is broken af but not good in a 1v1 against a half decent player

Well It's also my only tier 9 tank other than the Waffle Pz 4... not necessarily spoiled for choice here... (By the way my waffle 4 looks shmexy with HD now)

Best tanks for 1v1s are usually tanks with good mobility and hard turrets anyways. So something like a T54, conq or m103 would work really well.

They are more than aware that there aren't Tier 9 lights - Some people simply prefer to use a light tank in these Tier 9 battles, as not only do they have the MM of a Tier 9 tank, but they also are very quick and able to out-circle heavy tanks; easily get perma-tracks on them, etc.

 

Why would you think that they don't even know that there aren't Tier 9 lights? It's stupid to assume that they're that stupid... There's a reason it was written as "Or maybe even a light or arty!". Not typical choices, but in theory can still work out.

It's a 19 second reload with a decent crew. Keep a bit of distance and dump your clip while taking 1 shot in return, run for 20 seconds, or hell just hold your ground while pulling behind a bit of cover, pop back out and finish them off, it would be harder vs a good player but still doable.

 

That said I believe the tanks that will perform the best will be the T-54, WZ 111 1-4, and possibly the Conqueror for good players, the bad players will cling to their slow E75's and just get out dpm'd.

Yes it does. Regardless of whether it's a reward tank or not, if it's Tiers 7-9, you can use it. T-55A could be a pretty good choice.

Best tank, by far for this will be the Object 430 II. Just drive up to the enemy tank and facehug him, laughing while he bounces all his shells off your armor, and you pen all of yours because 330 pen HEAT.
