FACEIT opens to World of Tanks North America on August 10th!
Join the competition on FACEIT.com for prizes and glory

Players can engage in daily tournaments and ladders, playing alone or with friends, and earn FACEIT Points along the way. Players can even use these points to earn brand new hardware, in-game items, credits and cash.

FACEIT’s platform uses automated competition management technology to allow for swift and controlled competitive gaming. FACEIT gives players, organizers and communities the opportunity to create and run their own competitions with almost no human intervention. By joining the big FACEIT family, players can take part in a comprehensive competitive platform that spans multiple titles including World of Tanks.

Here is a breakdown of the World of Tanks events that FACEIT will be hosting:

Weekend Special Tournaments

  • Format: 7v7, BO3, single elimination (7-68, premade teams)
  • Prizepool: $1,000 + FACEIT points per tournament per day
  • Frequency: Every Saturday and Sunday
  • Access: Free
  • Number of slots: 128

The first weekend tournament starts on August 13th!

Ladders
Every day, FACEIT is going to host five ladders lasting four hours apiece, with each ladder starting every two hours. The first ladder of the day will start at 10:00 PT / 13:00 ET, with the last one ending at 22:00 PT / 01:00 ET the next day. The prize pool for each ladder is 50,000 FP (FACEIT Points), spread across 500 players.
For each ladder we have 3 queues (formats):

  • 7- 68 (tier 8-10)
  • 7- 54 (tier 6-8)
  • 7- 40 (tier 4-6)

SPG class has been restricted from all queues. No further restrictions are present, besides the tier cap.

Daily Tournaments
Everyday there will be eight tournaments, and players can compete in 1v1 BO1 (unlimited), 3v3 BO1 (unlimited) and 7v7 BO3 (divided into 7-54 and 7-68 tiers). All tournaments are played in a single elimination bracket.

A rough schedule can be found below:

  • 7v7 - 7/68 Cup (13:00 PT / 16:00 ET)
  • 1v1 Tier VI Cup (14:00 ET / 17:00 ET)
  • 3v3 Tier VIII Cup (15:00 PT / 18:00 ET)
  • 7v7 - 7/54 Cup (16:00 PT / 19:00 ET)
  • 1v1 Tier VIII Cup (17:00 PT / 20:00 ET)

  • 7v7 - 7/68 Cup (19:00 PT / 22:00 ET)

performance.

more importantly, im kinda confused as to why they would announce a thing like this which already has better prizing than actual league play, right after announcing there will be no prizing for actual league play.

The two don't have to be mutually exclusive. FACEIT offers prizing for playing 7/68, but no way to get to the Gold League. Silver Series doesn't offer prizing, but the top team moves on to Gold and you get a tournament account to use. So use FACEIT for practice/prizing and SIlver to get into Gold, or Silver for practice with the tourney account and the chance for Gold League and FACEIT to earn prizes.

Oh, I agree with you, I am just finding it quite humorous considering the massive fallout the league announcement has made.   I'll be talking to my team about it, I wonder if there will be a big issue of time slots interfering.

What happened to Skirmishes coming back in August? From the forum posts (and personal experience) the new format is not popular at all. People are still playing the new tournaments because they are to only thing offered.

I mean, who is bringing SPGs into high level tournaments?  I've logged nearly 10K games in arty, but you couldn't pay me to put them in anything competitive (outside of a few extreme camping situations), the RNG is too much of a gamble.

So we have to be a current paying WoT player to win prizes? Peachy.

No. FACEIT has a separate league or ladder for those who are willing to pay on their site (Premium). You can play FACEIT completely for free - both on their site as well as through WoT.
