Dance,

I have just entered this Thursday Throwdown. I haven't entered a trny for many months, and the page's layout has changed considerably (not for the better, IMHO).

I have some questions about page http://worldoftanks....nts/1000000295/

1) Immediately under the name of my team there is this block of text:

"SCHEDULE AUG 19 !"    (note that the exclamation mark is actually circled; I don't know how to do that herein).

When I hover the mouse over the "!", a pop-up says: "Scheduled times are displayed in your time zone format UTC+12" (I am in New Zealand).

There are no scheduled times anywhere near the "!", but Aug 19 is Friday (not Thursday), which is fine because NZ is a day ahead of the US.

If I scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, and click the "SCHEDULE" tab, I get a list of undated times (so the date isn't a clue), the first one is: "Group Stage Round 1: 1700 PT / 2000 ET". Nowhere else can I find any scheduled "times", only here, but these are indicated as being in US time zones. As these are the only scheduled times mentioned anywhere on the page, is the pop-up text for the "!" incorrect, or are the PT/ET suffixes incorrect?

2) What is server "US 1". I've played the game for a couple of years now, and I've only seen "US East" and US West". These are the only servers offered by worldoftanks.exe. How do I connect to US 1?

Thanks,

HvT

Hi HVT,

At the top of the page, the Schedule Aug 19 with the exclamation point tells you when the tournament starts. That date and time is based on your time zone.

Below that, you should see something that looks like this:
1 Tier VI

Day 1: Maximum 9 battles

US 1 - 17:00, Aug 18, TH

US 1 is NA East; US 2 is NA West

The time (17:00), date (Aug 18) and day of the week (TH) will vary depending on your time zone. Those should be filled in based on your computer's time.

The schedule down below is the time based on Pacific and Eastern time.

Thanks for answering my questions, Dance.

Just in case you're in charge of the trny web page layouts, this one could definitely do with some work: i.e.

"Tier VI" should NOT be the start of the intended schedule's second paragraph, because all that first line did was (for me) mentally disconnect that paragraph with the above "SCHEDULE" heading, as the tier number is obviously not a time nor a date.

And I've got no idea why the page says the server is "US 1" when all the rest of your software says "US East" or "USE". How about picking a single naming nomenclature and sticking to it.

Thanks,

HvT

Last time I played a 1vs.1 tourny open for all types up to tier 6, almost everyone brought O-I's. Does anyone know a good anti-dote?

I was wondering about this myself.
Seems like in team battles the Bromwells and lights never stood a chance against those.

How did the kv-2 fair?

How about a 59-16 if they could get to the side?

ELC maybe?

I saw an ELC BIS stay so close to an OI that he didn't have the gun depression to shoot down on it. Quite Hilarious tbh.

Dance,

The trny just finished, and I was very happy to see that the results table has the point talleys updated live now. That's a wonderful improvement over the last trny I played many months ago.

One little quibble though, the in-game trny pop-up stated that draws would be counted as losses for both teams, which makes sense in a 1 vs 1, but the website's points table gave 1 point to players who got draws. That procedure needs to be fixed.

I got a technical defeat while readied up in my Cromwell B in the queue waiting for the battle

to start!    Is there any way to dispute this and prove it?

This has happened before in other tournaments, but it was always server side glitches which

were WG esports' issues.  I'm not sure what happened here.  I would probably be more than

third fourth place had I been able to play. :/
