I was thinking that Wargaming should add sandbags, they were used in WWII by the Germans if they thought they would be going up against HE type shells. The only setbacks were that it would slow down the tanks and it had no effect on AP shells. The sand bags would be used like the cammo nets in that they would have to be deployed but unlike the cammo net they would stay deployed while moving. This would enable slow tanks to not have to worry about SPG̀s but would slow them down more.

It's been bandied about from time to time.  And folks have come out and supplied "data" supporting they help and debunking it as well.

And even giving the folks in the camp for them the benefit of the doubt they wouldn't totally negate arty.   Look at the spall liner mechanics for example.  I'm not saying they work the same or they don't work the same.  Just that WG would likely implement them similarly so they wouldn't be "unbalanced".

I think sandbags, logs, or other items would be a good addition to offset the use of premium rounds (increase chance of not penetrating and/or decreasing damage).  That way, there would be a method of 'upgrading' a tanks armor as we can upgrade other things (view range, load time, etc.) with other equipment.

War Thunder took how long to add them to Ground Forces and only partially? It's only recently that WG has made it so track pieces on your hull actually count as more then eye candy. I seriously doubt we will ever get sandbags.

Sandbags were't about HE shells, but things like magnetic mines.

HE isn't really going to be lessened too much by sandbags.

Not to mention they cause a pretty significant reduction in power to weight, in the amounts I think you're thinking of. We're talking several tons of sand here.

Doesn't this sort of already exist with the spall liners?

That would be cool. Make the sandbags have HP and get destroyed after 1-2 arty hits.

Would it be visual? or like a camo net?

Or you know, Wargaming could give us a cool cosmetic option where it would allow us to apply sandbags, Wood, and other trash a tank would carry during war

Butttt...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

We cant have that
