Is there any conflict of interest for D4NCE clan members for signing up for any tournaments since you run or are involved in? I can see some folks not being happy. or am I way off on my assumption.

she may setup and run the tournement but the groups are random and your still need to play the battles and win them,

tier 1 is likely one of the hardest 1 v 1's i have ever played.

I understand about winning matches but the meathead challenge it what I am confused with. Will a D4NCE member face another D4NCE member?

My clan has members who have faced each other over and over in these tournaments ....  its all how the teams are put in the groups .... nothing wrong with it  at all its actually fun because you can let each other know the tanks that the other teams have to help each other

As LostMyMarbles said, it's possible for clan members to see each other; it simply depends on how the tools make the groups. Same thing with who faces Meathead each week - the tool designs the groups, I just schedule the matches. And with ~2,000 teams, that's way too many for me to even know who gets matched up in each group :)

There shouldn't be any conflict of interest, since members of the D4NCE clan are treated like every other player - and I don't check who is in each tournament.

Just in case anyone that is unexperienced had doubts about what tier 1 tank that they want to bring, I have a quick guide featuring my thoughts:

Spoiler

If anyone is interested, this is copy/pasted from my tips topic here: http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/topic/504305-mongoosejakes-useful-tips-and-info-topic/#topmost

-This is specifically intended for newer players, or those who've never done a 1v1.

Nice post, Jake.

I'd say the T1 (clip/mobility), Loltraktor (view range/dpm), Vickers (HE), Otsu (Armor) are the only serious candidates, though I expect to mostly see T1's and maybe a few Lol's.

I signed up, but don't have any of those at the moment (I do have the NC-31, and it's utter garbage).  Putting a decent crew in them will cost 400 gold, so it's hardly worth spending that when there's only a 1 in 10 chance of earning more. Might actually steal a well trained crew from another light and retrain at 90% for credits, but I hate wasting crew training, so maybe not.

I normally keep my secrets to myself, but I don't expect to be competitive here so...... if I had a crew for it, I'd maybe pick the Loltraktor, max the view range (442 with Recon, Situational Awareness, BIA, Vents, Food, Binocs), then snipe from the hill, at least in the early phase of the battle.  I think it has the gun elevation for it, and it should be able to spot the other hill, while staying concealed with a camo net.

Specifically on that bold part: Even if your hill sniping is only one or two shots, that's enough to put you ahead enough to win.

I did this in the tier 6 1v1 in my Vk36.01H and the tier 3 light tank 1v1 and generally just stayed up on the hill long enough to out-spot the opponent and get one hit (maybe two in the light tank) into them before bailing. They start out in a hitpoint deficient position, which in these 1v1's typically means you win. Most of these end up devolving into a up close brawl or corner poking contest in which whoever leverages alpha, DPM, and hitpoints in the right combination wins.

The Vickers Medium 1 is a tier one tank that shouldn't be over-looked. In testing, I've been able to one-shot other tier 1's about a third of the time (6pdr with HE and a decent damage roll), and they are basically left stranded by crit damage if they survive (typically the enemy suffers a crew death and 2-3 modules taken out). It basically should be treated as the KV-2 of tier 1 with the 6pdr firing HE setup.

Here's my next strategy (untested/theoretical again)....  Take the T1 with the 5 shell clip.  Drive at max speed toward the opposing tank.  Aim to only fire when close enough to give yourself a good chance of landing all 5 shells, and plan to fire the last one just before hitting the tank.... and then with a Spall Liner, and Controlled Impact, do just that; hit/ram the other tank to finish them off (if needed), just in case you didn't penetrate with all your shells :)

I do like the sound of it, but it sounds risky.  First you have to hit the target, then you have to penetrate, then you have to hope you get a high damage roll.  If those things don't work out perfectly, you have to wait 4.5 seconds to reload, in the worst armored tank in the game.  Yeah, I might try it... :)

I consider the best all-round tank for this map to be the Otsu.

Mount the 13cm gun with some APCR and pepper your opponent to death

Plus the tank can be played in many different ways:

Sidescrape and show your angled tracks to force your opponent to bounce shells (but dont show your turret)

Use your amazing gun depression over hills/rubble

Utilize your awesome gun elevation to snipe from spawn.

As long as you keep T1 Cunninghams at a distance, you're almost gauranteed to win.

Heh, one guy shot me and crew killed me.  First time that's happened in over 18000 matches.  I just sat there for a second going, "What, why can't I fire I still have hitpoints left!  Oh."  Just tier 1 things I guess.
