I figured that I might as well make a dedicated thread for my own reskins and remodels, so that I don't end up spamming this board with topics.

Pretty cool. Don't understand why they didn't sell one like that, same with the Mutz.

M4/FL-10 Sherman Remodel by SkaerKrow*

Posted Image

During the Six Day War, both the Israeli and Egyptian forces were equipped in part with American M4 Sherman tanks. The Israelis improved their M4s by adapting the Sherman turret to accept more powerful French guns (the M4A1 Revalorise being one of these prototypes). Meanwhile, the Egyptian armed forces increased the firepower of their own Sherman tanks by refitting them with the FL-10 turret found on the French AMX-13 light tank. Records of the tank's performance and deployment are somewhat hard to come by, but these upgraded Shermans may have served with the Palestinian 7th Infantry Division. Due to morale and command issues, the M4/FL-10 did not have a positive showing in battle. Some examples of the M4/FL-10 Sherman were later captured by the Israelis, who after testing them determined that the tank had a comparable performance to their own M-51 Sherman.

M4/FL-10 (Strv m/42-57 Alt A.2 version) DOWNLOAD

This is a remodel that turns the Strv m42-57 Alt A.2 into the M4/FL-10 Sherman. Thanks to Nelumbo, this remodel now more closely resembles the historical Sherman V hull that was used in real life for this conversion. To install, download the version that you wish to use from the link above and extract the archive directly into your primary World of Tanks folder.

This remodel is HD compatible, and supports camoflauge. It does not currently support emblems, clan emblems, inscriptions, or marks of excellence.

Turret Clipping
Posted Image
Because of the unique shape of the FL-10 oscillating turret, the remodel will clip through itself it you elevate or depress the gun too much. I have not modified this by default, as I did not want to nerf the vehicles of other players without their consent. If you wish to play without the ability to clip your tank through itself, please follow the instructions in the readme document in the extras folder. I have included a optional modified XML that changes the parameters of the M4/FL-10 so that you can no longer clip your turret or gun into your hull. Be aware that this change will SIGNIFICANTLY NERF your Strv (everyone else's can still fully elevate and depress, even with the use of the variant XML file).

*Special thanks to Nelumbo (NA) for help with the details of the hull.

M4A1/FL-10 Prototype by SkaerKrow (Update Pending)

Posted Image Posted Image

Following World War 2, France found itself in possession of a great quantity of M4 Sherman tanks. There were plans to adopt the AMX-13 as the primary combat tank of the French army, but the production of these vehicles was not sufficient to quickly outfit the entire armored corps. As an interim solution, Batignolles-Châtillon proposed creating an upgraded hybrid of the M4 Sherman hull and the new AMX-13 turret. This modernized M4A1 was eventually presented to Egypt, who purchased a version of it on the M4A4 Sherman hull.
(Sources: char-francais.net, the-sherman-shop forums, yes this is a real thing)

This is a remodel that turns the Tier V M4 Sherman into the M4A1/FL-10 Sherman Prototype. To install, download the version that you wish to use from the link above and extract the archive directly into your primary World of Tanks folder.

This remodel is HD compatible, and supports camoflauge, inscriptions, and clan emblems. It does not currently support player emblems or marks of excellence.

Because the AMX-13 75 does not have as many guns as the M4 Sherman, I have chosen to use the longer SA-50 gun to represent all 75 and 76mm guns on the M4A1/FL-10, and the shorter SA-49 gun to represent the 105mm howitzer. This way, even with the mod installed you'll always know which type of gun that your opponent is armed with (high rate of fire or derp gun).

This mod has the same clipping issues as the original M4/FL-10 mod, with the same solution (see the first post). If you want to bound your depression/elevation to prevent clipping, I have provided a variant XML file in the extras folder.

Future Plans
-Emblem and Mark of Excellence support

I am pretty much satisfied with the tank skins, it is the stock garage that is boring, I have started working on the Bat Cave Garage again and I guess I am getting close to finding the files I need to change, sure would be nice if they had software we could use for it.

Oh neat. I'm really interested on how the Tiran-4Sh Prototyp will turn out.

Well, since I can't modify the actual 3D model files, it won't be quite as ambitious as I would like, but I think that it will be a decent representation of a test-bed vehicle.

Hi Skaer! Glad you started your own thread. I know I mentioned to you previously about making an Israeli version of the Centurion (they cal it the Sho't). I am still wanting it. It would be a great pairing for the re-skin of the M4A1 Ravioli. :)

This webpage has a lot of pics of them:

The most detailed ones seem to be from model kits:

Lookin good Krow, already looks better not being that funky green lol. I don't know what it is with the colors WG used, but I'm not a fan of any of them lol.

Tiran-4Sh by SkaerKrow

Posted Image
Both Egypt and Syria employed Soviet built T-54 and T-55 medium tanks during the Six Day War and Yom Kippur War against Israel. The victorious Israelis captured hundreds of these vehicles, pressing them into service as the Tiran-4 and Tiran-5, respectively. The Israelis modified these vehicles in a variety of ways, such as adding stowage bins and jerry cans to the turret to give the tank a distinct silhouette, replacing the all metal front fenders with half-rubber versions, replacing the Soviet anti-aircraft machine guns with .30 caliber Brownings, replacing the loader's hatch with one that opened towards the rear of the turret instead of the front, and other minor changes. However, these modifications were not conducted in a uniform fashion, and examples of the tank exist that are missing any or all of them. Later, Tiran-4 and Tiran-5 tanks were modified to accept a license built copy of the Royal Ordnance L7 105mm cannon, designated as the 105mm Sharir in Israeli service. These tanks were given the designations Tiran-4Sh and Tiran-5Sh, and were used by the IDF until they were exported or converted into heavy armored personnel carriers in the late 1980s.

Tirah-4sh (T-54 First Proto version) DOWNLOAD

This is a remodel that turns the T-54 First Prototype into the Israeli Tiran-4Sh. I was considering a version of this for the Object 140, but I may instead put together a remodel that turns that vehicle into a Tiran-5Sh instead. This model is based on the various T-54A copies found in the Chinese tech tree, which means that it still has its unhistorical Soviet AA machine gun, and a slightly out of place log on the back of the tank. I will update this remodel as WG releases new HD models for tanks like the T-34-3 and WZ-120.

To install, download the version that you wish to use from the link above and extract the archive directly into your primary World of Tanks folder.

This remodel is HD compatible. It does not currently support visible camouflage, emblems, clan emblems, inscriptions, or marks of excellence.

Future Plans

-Skin and model improvements where possible

-Possible camoflauge support

Special thanks to Life_in_Black, whose proposed Israeli Tech Tree is where I first learned about the existence of this vehicle. If you have any interest in vehicles from the Arab-Israeli wars, you should definitely check out his topic here on the forums.

M4/FL-10 Sherman Remodel by SkaerKrow

Good job, but WHY this tank has hull-mounted twin machineguns?

These MGs were on pilot projects only, not on production ones.

There are my variants, with sideskirts and without them.

Because I don't have a 3d modelling program, so I'm limited to using models that WG has already published in the game.

Sorry that I haven't updated these modifications for 9.15.1.2, but I've been in a difficult job hunt for the past month or so. I plan to have them up to date for 9.16, along with some corrections for the Tiran-4sh.

M4/FL10 is still working on 9.15.2. You can use my hull model without twin machineguns.

P.S. I think that T-55A hull (with chassis) would be better for Tiran-4.

WIthout the ability to remove all of the extra kit from the back of the T-55A hull, the best option based upon the photographic evidence available is the Type 59 hull, which is what I used. This is also a Tiran 4, not a Tiran 5 (the Tiran 5 being the version based upon the T-55, while the Tiran 4 was based on the T-54, as the Type 59 was).

EDIT: 9.16 breaks all of my remodels, meaning that I'm going to have to rework parts of the code from scratch. I've removed my download links for now, pending updates.

I'm still in the process of updating everything, but I've just uploaded a link to a version of the M4/FL-10 conversion that works with the new Swedish premium. I've been having fun running the tank as a proper autoloader, myself. The other versions of the M4 conversion should be updated this weekend.

Hello again, you're reskins & remodels are impressive as always. As such I was hoping you could do up some simple skins for those of us who don't like the German gray paint on tanks such as the VK 36 & StuG. I think they'd look good in soviet green since the Red Army made heavy use of captured equipment. I think we may have talked about this before buy I figured I'd ask.
