It's time for the Light Throwdown! This weekend, grab your favorite tier VII Light tank and head to the battlefield! Players will face off in an epic 1v1 clash on Mittengard for gold and glory!! Don't have a tier VII light tank? Don't worry! You can rent the Chinese Type 62 and blast your way to victory!

Joining a tournament and earning a prize is easier than ever! In the Light Throwdown, single-player teams are split into groups, with each group having no more than 10 teams. Facing all other teams in their group, the best tier VII light tank commander will earn the 1st place prize - a cool 500 gold! If you're not at the top of the pack, don't worry, players will earn gold all the way to 7th place!

Stop by, sign up and join the competition!

Tournament Information

  • Team size: 1
  • Map: Mittengard
  • Min tier allowed: 4
  • Max tier allowed: 7
  • ONLY lights allowed

Looking for even more of a challenge? Check out our the Platournaments on TuesdayThursday and Saturday featuring tier V tanks - you can sign up as a complete team or sign up individually! If you sign up as a solo player you will be assigned to a team. Our eSports calendar also has all our upcoming tournaments - take a look and find the right fit for you!

Run into a player that brought something other than a light tank? Send in a dispute immediately after the tournament ends and we will adjust the scores. Please note, you must include all of the requested information when you submit your dispute!

Dispute Process

Prizes

  • A player will only receive a prize if they won at least one battle during the tournament.
  • Prizes are awarded to players as quickly as possible.
  • It can take up to 7 days after the tournament has concluded before players are credited with their prize.
  • If it has been more than seven days OR if there is a problem with the prize, please contact tournaments@wargamingamerica.com.

Hey, it's free wins, why wouldn't I want people to not show up?

Because then you sit there for 10 minutes waiting, plus everyone in the bracket gets that win.  Unless you're terrible and need those techs to get into the gold at all, they don't help the top 3 in any way.  In fact it can actually make things worse for you, as if there's 4-5 techs it generally means just a single loss will knock you out of first for good.  If the bracket is full there's generally more losses among the top 3 as someone inevitably loses to something they didn't expect or played badly against.

Geez, I just retrained my Bulldog crew to the T1 Cunningham for last week's tournament, and now I have to train them back!

While it wasn't the strongest pick, I just ran a MS-1 solely because I had that 100% gift tank light crew sitting around still.  Couldn't justify retraining good crew for a tier 1 I'll never use again.  Worked well enough with HE spam, good enough for 2nd.

I planned to keep them in the T1 until I Aced it.

There's detailed instructions under 'disputes' on the tournament page.

On a side note I completely forgot how often you hear 'we lost some ammo but at least it didn't explode' in the Bulldog.

So I followed the rules to report the player who brought a Medium tank and I don't think anything was done about it....  If this was acknowledged how do I find out?

You'll receive an email response. Yesterday was a holiday, so I just got into the office today. As I was playing catch up from the long weekend, I wasn't able to deal with disputes for the Light Throwdown. You should get a response tomorrow :)

Is that why rewards haven't been paid out yet?

Yep. Disputes need to be finished before gold can be paid out. I should be able to complete payouts today as well :)
