I think we're a long way from there.
Besides, we already know what the medium line looks like.

Hmmm... could this be the first indication of possible delay perhaps, or just WG being cautious with announcements?

From what I've been reading out of it, I was expecting a December 2013 release at the earliest, so this does not let down my expectations at all
I guess...

Tangentially related but an interesting bit of news. TBH The US shouldn't get Japanese tanks at all, post-war they tested them but never used them in combat. The French on the other hand DID used captured Japanese tanks during the First Indochina War, the Type 89 I-Go, Type 95 Ha-Go and Type 94 TK tankette.

Someone should maybe suggest that these be French premiums instead of US premiums.

Probably, US tree has plenty of prems to choose from. The French not so much. Unless the devs keep turning vehicles the Germans modified and exclusively used into French prems.

The Matilda BP was released ahead of the rest of the British tech tree in September with 8.0 while the rest of the barebones tech tree came in 8.1 in November, so just assuming Japan follows a similar timeline if we are assuming that Japan stays on schedule for December that we can expect the first Japanese tank to come in October.
Captured tanks IIRC though are still a 'low priority' for WG but I agree entirely, the US needs no help with it's premiums.

What about September 16th, the end of the Battle of Khalkin Gol (Battle of Nomohan), Japan's biggest tank battle?

Works for me.
"Japanese tank forces got slaughtered which kicked off new development programs. To reflect that kick off, Here`s a tier 8 premium!"

A tier 8 premium would be really kick-ass but I think instead we will get a tier 5-ish tank, like how the British got the Matilda BP

I would like the following dates:
Premium release: August 23 (Height of Battle of Shanghai)
Tree release: December 8th (Start of the Malayan Campaign)
Yes, I like provocative dates.
