Japanese Tank Tree & Guns Discussion

Would the Type 3 Kai be premium tier 5 or 6? If compared with the Schmalturm, then tier 6? I remember Kankou putting up that post. I agree with it's assessment and also agree on the Type 3 Kai being the first premium. For that, the devs should model the Chi Nu and Chi To first.

No, tier 5 at best.

Yes definitely tier 5.

That would be good for WG since by modelling the Chi-Nu and Chi-To you would have all the material you needed for the Type 3 Kai which then could be put together fairly quickly. The Matilda BP, the UK's first premium tank was a Matilda with a Cromwell turret afterall.

Well lets hope the Japanese pre-tree premium will be better that the dreadful British pre-tree Matilda BP Premium tank.

The Type 3 Chi-Nu Kai would have a decent gun. It is miles ahead of the Matilda BP already.

They did eventually fix the BP, it has 55mm of side armour now (the same as the Soviet Matilda and 5mm more than the standard Matilda) and the armour collar.... of course it's ahistorically slow, has a massively overweight turret, is too big, and the turret armour is incorrect but it's not as bad as when it was first released.

If the Chi-Nu Kai is the pre-release premium for the Japanese tree it looks like it will be an 'all gun' tank. It's 50 mm of frontal hull armour will not provide much protection.
