the med spall liner is suppose to give 15% additional protection against ramming and explosion is that worth it?

Also there are only 3 spaces for these mod. Can they be expanded?  or are you limited to 3.  thanks

1. Not a fan of spall liners so I'd say no.
2. Limited to 3

I've never gotten the spall liner for anything honestly, so I can't say. But I don't think it would be worth it for the Pz IV. It's not a brawler, so you shouldn't have to worry about heavies ramming you too much.

I doubt you would need the spall liner for the Panzer IV. Most likely you will be spending a lot of your time sniping from a distance, this does depend on your play style however.

Spall liner is useless for Panzer IV. Your side and rear armour are pathetic and just about any SPG shots will penetrate and do full damage anyway. Since you'll be sniping, I suggest a gun laying drive or optics/binocs.

The only one I ever put a spall liner on was the Maus.

*American heavies are good candidates as well.

To be honest, you'll either be killed or kill the ET before it comes to ramming.

My P4 is my fun tank and credit farmer. I've got the gun laying drive, med gun rammer and a camo net on it. Gun rammer is pretty much a must have item as that split second loading speed can mean the difference between life or death. The camo net is pretty much to keep bird shit off my tank as I don't think it works at all. I just keep forgetting to get the toolbox when I have an extra 500k burning a hole in my European shoulder bag.

Yeah, if you're getting hit by major HE or being rammed, the PzIV isn't likely to live long.  I run a rammer, GLD and optics on mine.  Turns it into a fast, accurate beast of a sniper.

Spall liners tend to be more useful on heavier tanks, where heavy artillery are a concern and you're tough enough to take more than a hit or two from them.

Dont waste any silver on this mod for your Panzer IV. Vent, Rammer, Gun Laying Drive.  This tank is a pure sniper and can damage Tier 8 tanks with the upgraded gun.

If you have big thick armor that people have to spam HE at you because they can't pen with AP?  You might want a spall liner.
If you're big and huge and slow and an arty target every game, then you might want a spall liner.

Generally speaking, this is only high tier heavies.

I put spall liners in most of my heavies above tier 6 or so. Helps some with HE shots. I would not use it in a tier 5 medium.

I have: vent, rammer, binocs

SL on this would be a real waste. Is RT that much of a problem for you? Other than the occasional HE cannon, who is throwing HE at a PzIV?

nOOOOOOOOOO!  Why?  Anything that you care about being protected from with a spall liner should one shot a Panzer IV.... go make your sniper machinegun more snipery and more machinegunny.

Spall liners are generally used for heavies that receive a lot of HE from arty as well as low tier tanks that can't use penetrate with  standard AP.

Everyone has their personal preference for equipment. I don't use up all 3 slots unless it's going to be a tank I use for a very long time. For the Pz4 with the 75mm L/70 I would recommend rammer/binocs/coated optics(if you are going to use it long term). Rammer keeps the reload time to a minimum while binocs/optics allow you to spot your own targets to snipe.

On my PzIV I use Binocs, Camo, and rammer...though I need to get gold and switch the rammer out for a GLD.

I don't think that the rammer has all that much affect on an already high rate of fire gun, but a GLD is always noticeable.

I use a liner on my Ram II however: Ram's are tough, and have enough speed and maneuverability to ram people effectively; but a rammer is likely wasted on them. I will probably eventually throw a GLD and vents on it as well.

The Liner is best served, as most other have noted, on heavy vehicles that attract HE spam.
