There's going to be a fair amount of mad cuz bad players ranting that top players still aren't banned.

Don't need mods to play well, mates.

Try vanilla, you might like it.

actually gonna do something about the t-22 riggers now?  they've been driving around in the proceeds of rigging matches for months now.

more important things to worry about, TBH, than in game shenanigans from a year ago

Okay this is my view unless its in the game for everyone to use ban ALL MODS just sweep the programs randomly every month several times and if anything is not YOUR software put in an immediate ban for 7 days, give them time to remove the mods, then if they get caught again Permaban them. Simple. My view unless a MOD is available to all its CHEATING - period. If you want to let them customize a icon or something then set that up easy to use IN the game. Its the only way to be fair to everyone.

I applaud your efforts on this WG. As long as you don't later implement "premium aiming service".

I left The Battlefield franchise of gaming when i determined i was probably the last guy playing not using any cheats, wasn't any fun. I got on board with WoT because in the beginning it was just a level playing field, no cheats, no clans or stats. WoT has evolved some over the years, mostly for the better, i very much support this stab at grounding those who don't play fair and ruin the experience for all. Thank you WG for this effort...

feedback:

  • a 7 day account suspension when the company can't clearly identify what is legal vs. illegal is pretty draconian

and here's the problem:

I think the new policy is fantastic! Applause for doing the two strike system. Get the game ruining players gone!

some people laughably still think that "cheating" is rampant, and ruins the game.  yes, it apparently has happened enough that wargaming has found some evidence to address the issue.  game ruining however is a stretch.

I would counter, that the number of players using it to demonstrably large enough extent to be "game ruining" is far and away less prevalent than the number of players that through passive play, inaction, and out right botting continue to go unaddressed for literally tens of thousands of battles.

there is a notorious botter that finally got an account wipe this summer after 55,000 battles of less than one damaging shot per game in ANY of his tanks that alternated bots between RRR mode into the enemy, and his current bot that either afk's at base and activates when a target comes into proximity of it - or it drives in circles auto-aiming through terrain at various targets.  this bot, is so well known that people have multiple times stated his name in the recent weeks.  link together the properties of "adhesive" with a color, and end in a single numeric digit and you have his account name.

he's back up to over 24,000 battles since roughly July.  this, plus his 55,000 original battles = 79,000 matches x 29 people = 2,291,000 player interactions it has single highhandedly ruined the gaming experience over...

QB wants it to be illegal.

He thinks it should be but doesn't think it is under these rules (as written).

The current list could be a little more clear.  However, I'm in the camp that acknowledges cheating and illegal mods exist, but I am thoroughly skeptical as to just how "prolofic" they are.  Picking out odd gameplay isn't hard, and such things can and often do stand out.

I firmly believe the biggest source of claims of hacks and cheats are poor players who simply don't know any better.

Plenty of Warpackers out there seeing when things are knocked down.  I am only aware of aim helpers because of QB.  I have used the reload timer (it is a great help) and I would agree it should either go or be built into the game.  Other mods, not much of a big deal.

The real problem IMO is that the game client is making available via its API, information that is not supposed to be available to us.

If you ever watched a WGL live event, you'll noticed that the 'broadcaster's live view of a match' has all the information some of the illegal mods provide: reload timer, free camera, who is lit vs who is not, gun direction (on some occasions), etc. So if all this information is available via (undocumented) API, it is no surprise that clever coders are making mods that uses it.  Remove those API == problem solved.

learn what API is before you throw ideas out man, API has nothing to with mods except stats.  mods come from decompiling the python files and reversing it and finding the flaws in the code they can manipulate. has nothing to do with the API access lol

Is it sad that I'm reading EU's post on this and they have responded more than a few times on the concerns 3-4 times in the 1st few pages alone.....yet NA's not saying anything? I've even seen WGNA people reading this thread and not posting anything.

Is autoaim+ legal or illegal?

I actually can't freaking believe I have to ask again.

Would love to know the answer to that and why it is not made a feature of the game itself.

Why is reload counter considered illegal? It has been included in mod packs for years in one form or another and since it has been around for so long why is WG taking problem with it now? I traditionally have only used two mods, a reload counter and a scope zoom reset.
