If that is 90% of the fun you get from playing this game, then maybe you are playing the wrong game.  Maybe you should play that "Twitter" game instead.

Nah, I'd rather toss this post out there to see what others are made of....

Another Stat w-hore heard from.  I doubt you can even open WOT with out XVM.  You should go back to Pony Island and make sure your horse doesn't die.

Go easy on him.  He's overcompensating for his own inadequacies.  I think it's funny and simultaneously sad.

I think the point practically everyone is missing here is that I'm not advocating mean-spirited comments.  If you ever watched WOT Funny Chat Logs on YOuTube, you would know exactly what I mean.

Come on, guys; get a sense of humor.  It's Christmas for Chrissake!

Another thread of middle aged men acting like 8 year old boys.

That's the entire reason all chat was done away with. They'll not stop until there's no chat of any kind at all.

Cross team chat was removed because when the 5 strikes policy was introduced 10k trolls pushed the limits and 10k snowflakes reported everyone and everything, overloading the system. So instead of having to hire multiple people to handle the 20k reports a day, WG just [edited]canned chat.

Whats the point? 95% of cross chat was toxic anyways. Some 07 here and there when you saw a friend on the other side. The rest was just wishing cancer upon the other team, other name calling and people pointing out their team mates positions

I'd rather converse with the other team than my own by saying nice shot,  or good duel on a corner something like that.  I never have anything negative to say about the other team.

All i ever get from my own teams are nasty responses to simple basic play like letting your team know where your spotting for quick lights.  Half the time i say something it just gets a nasty remark from some [edited]thats trying to be cool and probably does that crap here on the forums too.  The games playerbase is a cesspool.  I'd rather they remove chat altogether from game cept for maybe clan wars or something.

Everything you could do in allchat you can do in private messages.

There is no downside to removing it

Its not that simple.  People play this game expecting it to be a safe space.  You shouldn't have to worry about being insulted or subjected to cyberbullying.   That doesn't make you a crybaby.

the problem is far more toxic stuff came from your own team, if somebody truly disliked enemy chat that much then yes they were just whiners, all WG needed to do was add a button to disable their all chat rather then punish the other 90% of the playerbase for no reason

the same could be said about the opposite opinion just as easily, there was no upside to removing it

Because in World War 2, 18 year olds were storming the beaches with machine guns raining down on them; watching their brothers and family get slaughtered before their eyes and still pushing forward into the darkest of abysses.

And now 18 year olds need safe spaces because words hurt.  Political correctness has taken over the United States.  Companies feel as if they must enforce it to continue to be considered good businesses.  The time honored American tradition of smack talk in sports has been thrown out the window in favor of this new abysmal failure of a communication system.

TLDR: There's always going to be extremists taking everything to the maximum possible (though impractical) extreme.  That is Wargaming.

Yes there is a upside. No more grieving players giving out friendly positions.

there is a very simple fix for that rather then going to the extreme, the unheard of concept apparently nobody thought of it.... wg actually punishing those people, or if you want to prevent it in the first place they could censor coordinates, both would be far more reasonable then eliminating chat altogether over a tiny issue

You said no upside. I provided you an upside.

Don't care about you moving the goalposts to fit your agenda.

I said there was no upside in response to the other person, using the same flawed logic, of course there are upsides and downsides with both

But what about these arguments for cross team chat?

"It's in the game"

and

"Learn how to avoid it by playing arty, err, chat safe"

Oh and this, "Nothing ever gets changed by complaining on the forums"

So....

Rather than take appropriate action against spammers and cybermorons, WG saw fit to disable All chat in game.  How very lazy and avoiding of the true issue.  90% of the entertainment value of this game is being able to hurl clever insults at the enemy team and be party to vigorous and energetic exchanges between teams.  I realize there were poisonous individuals in the game that gave away their teammate's positions, but if WG would deal with those individuals in a swift and certain manner, we would still have inter-team chat.

Bad form, Wargaming.

As you can see by the way players reply to forum posts and the level of toxic banter, chat in game is far worse.  Yes it sucks not to talk to friends or clan mates on the other team and yes I wish like most WG would have taking a different road to correct this such as actually use their in game reporting system with a quicker reaction time like they do with TKers.

But we can not blame WG for this.

We only have our self to blame as players for not controlling how we our self communicated with one another.

We made our bed, now we have to sleep in them.
