Instructions for getting into the battle for 1x1 tournaments.

I had a hard time trying to figure out the tournament procedure. I would guess that is the
main reason for the no-shows in 1x1. For clueless loners like me who are reluctant to join
a clan and get knowledge, here are some instructions for getting to the battle:

STEP 0  Make sure WOT knows your time zone *before* joining any tournaments.
Having enrolled in tournament and confirmed lineup, first problem I ran into was time zone
which had to be changed by signing in to WOT website.  WOT had me located in Europe but really
I am in Pacific time zone. Keep an eye on deadline for registration. Games start 2-3 hours after
deadline.

STEP 1  Join a tournament. (1x1 Throwdown for example)
Take the option to create a new team.
Give the team any name you want, but give your in-game name for Captain's contact
Be sure to confirm lineup after creating team.
Bookmark the team page for schedule and the post-tournament results.

STEP 2  Wait until registration for tournament closes for schedule.
The tournament schedule will be released on the team page about an hour after the close of
registration.

STEP 3  Log in to the WOT game client, selecting the US-EAST server (US1).
About 15 minutes before your first game is scheduled to start, a button will appear on the
lower panel, next to "General", titled "Special Battle"

STEP 4  Select a tank, click the "Special Battle" button, and click on the first battle.
This brings up the "Tournament" window. You will have to repeat this for subsequent battles.
If two battles are available, only select the upper one, which is the next battle. There is no
point in skipping ahead by selecting the lower one.

STEP 5  Assemble your team (1x1).
Click on your name in the Queue. Press the right arrow to transfer to Members.

STEP 5  Click "READY" and wait.
The tank you selected appears in the Members list. The tank's status indicates that it is
reserved for the tournament. The "Battle" button normally used to start a battle changes
to "Not Ready" which means that normal operation is suspended until the tournament battle
starts.

STEP 6  Battle! (Or not.)
The battle should start automatically on schedule. There will be an immediate notification
if your opponent is a no-show, and you can fill time until the next battle.

STEP 7  Go back to Step 4 and repeat.

I hope this helps get more "lone wolf" tankers into the 1x1 tournament battles.

I entered a tier 8 1 vs 1 throwdown tournament on Xbox 360 but I don't know why I am not getting to play my matches?

Casey, this is the PC forums, you'll probably need to find the 360 forum... http://forum-console.worldoftanks.com

and how do I report if a contestant cheated by using an invalid tank?

Tournament Disputes

A dispute is a claim against an illegitimate result by an opponent’s violation of a written Tournament rule.

Disputes must adhere to the protocol detailed below or risk having the dispute dropped by tournament administration.

  • Teams have 24 hr after the tournament has concluded to submit a dispute.
  • All disputes received after that time will be considered invalid.
  • Disputes must be emailed to tournaments@wargamingamerica.com.
  • The email subject/title must include the name of the tournament.

DISPUTES MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING IN THE BODY OF THE EMAIL OR RISK HAVING THE DISPUTE DROPPED BY TOURNAMENT ADMINISTRATION:

  • In-game name of the player submitting the dispute
  • Name of the Tournament
  • Your team’s name with a link to your team’s page created for you during registration
  • Your opponent’s team name and a link to your opponent’s team page created during registration
  • Reason for dispute: e.g. “I would like to report the team for using a tank that was not allowed, the StuG III.”
  • An attached replay of the disputed battle(s)

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • One valid dispute during a group stage reverses all scores from the offending team for that round.
  • Publicizing disputes prior to resolution is subject to penalties at tournament admin's discretion, not limited to:
    • Disregarding the dispute
    • Immediate team disqualification
    • Removal of offending player from the event

I have that set up in my email client ready to fill in the names and such as a draft.

Just add the info and shoot it off to WG to report those that show up to a tier 3 lite only mach with a T-150, KV2, AT 15, etc.

Thinking of giving this tournament a try. Never played one before... What's the best type of tank for these? Anyone know of youtube footage I could watch to see what I can expect?

I want to do the tier 7 one,  debating between Wz-131 or T29

Bad things happen on training ground....really bad things. Things that can't be unseen :hiding:

Lost City and Ghost Town are the same map ;)

My concern with Ghost Town and Ensk (standard versions) is the size, especially players being able to find each other, and not hide for a draw. I can try them, but would need y'all to give feedback and let me know if it works/doesn't work.

I could also try running maps as Attack/Defense or increasing the time to 7 min to see if Encounter maps work.

So what if they hide for a draw.  It's part of the game so let it happen.  We see lots of draws in Widepark. Neither wanting to cross the tracks.   More variety of small maps for 1v1 is needed.

More variety of maps is needed for the game itself.  The maps have become too predictable.

Something which I don't think is possible, but would improve the variety is the ability for the maps to self generate each map where the terrain changes.  Hills pop up in random places, dips in other places.  Totally random generation so gameplay becomes less predictable.

Is premium tanks allowed in the tournament as long as it meets the required tier?

How do you figure that you were supposed to get 400? 3rd place is 250.

Are you serious or what ? -_-

First place is player with 27 points - reward 500 gold

Second place me and guy above me on list with 21 points  - rewards 400 gold

We are supposed to share second place, that means we both have to get 400 gold !

If you lost to Gamer ECU then you take 3rd since there are no draws in your record I am assuming that's what happened.

Those rules kinda don't make sense

We both have 21 points, it is fair both of us to get 400 gold

Gamer ECU killed me so what ? I killed player who won agains Gamer ECU huh ?

actually they make perfect sense if 2 players have the same points the tie braker is the match between them, if they draw that game then is a tie and they share the same position.

You lost against ECU and he was the player wich you were tie in points, whatever happen in the other matches is irrelevant.

Maybe you should read the rules.  A tie is broken with the match you played with the person you were tied with.  Your image says you got 3rd place, so obviously you lost your match against the 2nd place person.
