Auto loader has better DPM.  I've tried both guns and I keep going back to the auto loader, full clip can do 1500 damage with good RNG rolls.

Your choice. Do you want to have a high damage output, or a gun that can sustain itself without a hefty reload?

Am I missing something? Aren't both guns the same in pen/dmg??? However, with the 30+ second reload of the clip and a worse disperstion and aim time I believe, wouldn't you in theory get more DPM from the other 76mm? Am I missing something? I certainly prefer not to have the autoloader in my bulldog mostly because I don't like the added stress of having to clip in a glorious moment in the game as I am leeching off an enemy team while driving in and out of them.

The Single shot has WAY better DPM. http://tanks.gg/wot/tank/m41-bulldog#eq:5l00000

The Auto Loader is better, simply because of the play style the tank employs. It is an assassin. I have VERY good view range, but I almost never use it. Scouting is useless now, because of corridors. The only time you should be scouting, is in the first minute, and at less than 7 tanks.

I have used both but I keep going back to the autoloader. The tank is played differently based on the gun tho. The autoloader is an up close, pump 1000+dmg or pick off multiple low health tanks kind of weapon while the final gun is better for sustained dmg but doesn't have the quick-kill capability. I can tell you they are both good at sniping, don't let the dispersion fool you. The real advantage to the top gun is slightly better power to weight (its a lighter gun) and better gun depression (2 degs). The DPM is usually inconsequential because you're not going to be able to take advantage of it anyways based on game-play. The thing about the autoloader is it has TEN in the clip. You can reload @ the 7th (or whenever) shot while they think you still have some shells in the clip and then when you DO attack 32 seconds later you can pump a full 10-clip in. Auto loaders are all about timing and deception. OR run away and come back, the reload isn't all that bad as long as you avoid being trapped...

The M41 Bulldog is my go to tank when I'm having a bad day.

You need to use the autoloader because  the single shot gun takes too long to put the damage in (but it can put it in continuously without the long reload). With the autoloader, you have much more potential. Once you have that 10 shot autoloader loaded, you can brawl other light tanks far better and you have all the other benefits of autoloaders.

I prefer the single shot that way I'm always in the fight and can change ammo on the fly.

I prefer the auto loader. The single shot gun was hit with the Nerf bat quite a while back. If you want to hit consistently I would use the single shot gun. However because the Nerf, I think the Dpm is lacking.

I prefer the auto loader since its clip potential is amazing for a LT and it can often get u out of trouble when u get rushed by a Hvy for example.
