I hope not, you guys are already getting the IS-4 to T10 and all previous tanks before it unlocked and naturally have this one unlocked if you got you'r IS-7.

All the previous tanks before it unlocked? What? No we aren't lol. When the IS-4 is moved to tier 10 it is going ontop of the KV line of tanks. The KV-4 and ST-1 will be introduced as tier 8/9 respectively(of course T-150 is the new tier 6 in the line as the KV-3 moves to tier 7) and we aren't getting any of those unlocked. All you will have is the tier 10 in that line. If you have the KV-3 in your garage you will get a free T-150 though. Nothing to do with IS-4.

What you will get is a free T-10 at tier 9 under the IS-7, because people who had an IS-4 but wanted an IS-7 and hadn't unlocked it yet won't be able to get it anymore after the switch, meaning they would have to grind all over again. The KV-4 and ST-1 will remain locked until you research them from the KV-3 and up the normal way.

[*]230 mm (front, upper glacis plate, piked)
[*]120 mm (sides and lower glacis plate)
[*]250 mm (turret front)
[*]100 mm (turret sides)
[*]25 mm (turret rear)
[*]80 mm (hull rear)
[/list]

Those stats sound amazingly good, does anybody know the historicaly accurate stats for the IS-7? Because those armour values sound way better than the Is-7 , it would just be silly to add the T-10 at tier 9 if it has better armour values than the IS-7.

Pretty sure the only thing that the T-10 outpaces the IS-7 is in the top front glacis plate and front turret armor, but I'd say the IS-7 has better shaped turret than the T-10. That said, we'll have to wait and see what kind of stats they go with.

Keep in mind they could make the front 115mm and it'd have that "230mm" effective armor.  I'm guessing that's the route they'll go.

What I'm curious/anxious to see is the M-62-T2 122mm.  It should be a far better gun than the BL-9.

230mm - it's  most protected part of tank in game and it will be.....weakspot! - place, where upper and lower armour plates overlap each other (120+120) and in game this place will have 120mm with 30 degr. slope - becouse game don't count overlaping.

armour will be 120 at ~ 45+55 degr.

IS-8 will be Tier9 IS-3.

I also wouldn't worry too much about the turret.  My guess is the reason they settled on adding the T-10 is because the turret is already in-game as the upgraded IS-3 turret.  Add a bit of color and a few more polygons, and you've got a LOT of saved development time.

I am curious as to what the upgraded turret will be though.....maybe the IS-7s? Or something Similar? I hope it isn't just a Mod T-10-3 or something that looks identical but has higher stats(IS turret).....so lazy. All they do is change the placement of the star and voila! New turret!

Turret from IS-7? No. It's to big and heavy for IS-8 chassis. Maybe T-10A or T-10M.

I rather hope the T-10 has an upgrade turret that would prominently feature the big sensor eye shown in several schematics and because I know folks will instictively been drawn to shooting at the big lense.

Not to mention it looks rather interesting.

They will likely go with the T-10M as the upgraded turret. Here is a nice picture of it:

The second Turret of the IS-3 the Mod-T10 Tyrret was the actual IS-3M. Both the IS-3M and the IS-8 or also nown as the IS-10/T10 was the same. Reason was that by the Time the IS-3M was in full production the more T-62 and T-55 was just as powerful and had the same armour. So the IS-3M was made and classified as a new Medium/Heavy BAttle tank. A tank with Medium Speed and Manuverability but the armour and Firepower slighty more than medium of the time. The IS-8 or also nown as the IS-10/T10 was the heavy tank of the IS-3M based on the IS-3M but with more armour on the front and sides. the ML-65 122 was no bigger than the standard 122mm of the time but had twice the punch and damage as the BL-9. later varients the T-10M could carry a 130mm gun based of the BL-9 and ML-65. as for speed and manuverability was the same just the IS-8 or the IS-10/T10 was slightly slower due to more armou carried on her frame  was no faster and in practice was actuallyu slightly slower than the IS-3M but not by much they both where rated at 37 KMH on off road and around 40KNH on a road. Just the IS-8 was a more powerful IS3M too have the is_3M as there new MBT ( Medium Battle Tank) not MAin battle Tank and the IS-8 or IS-10/T-10 as there HBT ( Heavy BAttle Tank). Later was scraped and Russia Adopted the Main BAttle Tank and all IS-3M and the IS-8 OR is-10/t10 Where cancelled. This happened during the the first war Between Egypt and Isreal where the Egyptians had IS-3M from Russia and did well against the Isreal bought British and American tanks. Just supply was bad and that the IS-3M where a bear to maintain in desert conditions and that Isreal American SHermans and British tanks they bought where faster and more manueverable in the Open but did poorly against the IS-3M.

Will the T-10 be equipped with a high ROF 122mm cannon, as well as improve accuracy?

The way its always been...if a player has a tank that is getting replaced, the player gets the new tank AND gets to keep the original. So yes, we'll have a T10 IS4 and a T9 t10.

whats with some of these people? T10 was the IS10 not the IS8. IS10 was renamed do to destalinization after his death.

Thought the front wedge glacis plate is 120mm @ 58 degrees from vertical, effective LoS @ 226mm. It has a 250mm gun mantle, and front turret been cast should give it 240mm @ the front while thinning out to 120mm to the sides.

Best angle to target the turret from the front will be @ a 45 degree angle that should reduce the front turret armor to less then 150mm LoS thickness.

no the armour on the IS IS-10/T-10 tanks where twice the IS-3M yanks ( the Mod T-10 tyrret IS-3) other than that it was generally the same perfomance and shape just slightly slower than the IS-3 but not by much

I am pretty sure that is 120mm sloped @ 58-60 degrees for the glacis plate, giving it 226mm - 240mm LoS thickness. There is no way in hell that the glacis is actually 240mm thick, or it would be atleast 480mm due to slope, and the vehicle would be far too heavy beyond the 52 metric ton range. The turret armor is cast and round, from 250mm @ the mantle, and 240mm at the edge of the mantle while thinning out to 120mm to sides. Dunno where you people think that it has twice the armor, considering it only weighs 6 metric tons more then an original IS-3.

The 122mm M-62-TS was fitted with a rammer due to complaints that the 2 piece ammunition was too heavy for a single loader to give a reasonable RoF, it had slightly greater penetration then D-25T fitted on the IS-3, it was able to penetrate 185mm @ 1000m, where as the D-25T penetrated 160mm @ 1000m, while bother were firing the exact same 122mm BR-471B APBC. So it should have a similar penetration with the 122mm BL-9 that is modeled ingame, while possibly with a slight increase in RoF. It also fired the BP-460A HEAT round that could penetrate 300mm @ all ranges. It also had 2 axis stabilization, but I dont think they it would be modeled ingame.

I don't see a front driver slot weakness on that tank which is nice, but the lower glacias seems rather exposed, like the new E series tanks. Should be really easy to hit and penetrate there. The upper glacias seems modeled after the IS-7 design more than the IS-3 design. Much more rounded, I like that.

I don't really see any difference at all between that T-10M turret compared to the Mod T-10 the IS-3 uses....maybe the sides are angled a little more outwards to glance shots to the side rather than up and over.

Should be a good new tier 9. Hopefully.
