You can look up any number of videos on youtube talking about how the tank is after the buffs, but overall people consider it to be a decent tank now. It still can't brawl, but it has the best gun on a tier 8 medium tank with good pen and good alpha, now with decent handling.

its a slow glass cannon. play it as a vulture, or die horribly as everyone laughs at your tier 6 armor.

It now fulfills the role it was meant to play, as a support medium. It can flex around well enough and put shots where you want them to go. It can poke ridges and hit weak spots. It's now very fun to play. Still not a solo-carry monster because of the lack of armor, but it's a very fun tank to play now. It's much less rage-enducing than it was before.

The buff has made it much more enjoyable to play. It's certainly not OP, but it offers a very unique play style. Personally I give it a thumbs up.

I thought it was plenty powerful enough for what it was before the buff. It's a true support sniper, play it as anything but and it'll glass cannon let you down. Mid to long range sniping is where it's at for this tank, with good alpha and pen.

Truth!  The T-34-3 has a very poor handling and the same alpha damage for a slightly longer reload and crap aim time and accuracy, less health and more expensive shells.

If you're willing to dip into those premium rounds, you get the 250 pen.  BUT, remember that the velocity for the HEAT rounds is about 500m/s slower, so lead time will be different.

It has a little more pep now, but the 10 degrees of gun depression make ridge-sniping a must, agreed...

I was considering it during the recent 15% off sale for Tier 8 prems (around Christmas time). For 6100 gold or so when it's on sale, definitely considering it for next time but I'm not in a rush since I have the CDC.

I wouldn't call it competitive but for me it's fun. The standard apcr is nice though the heat is kinda terribad. You kinda peekaboo, poke ridgelines, abuse your alpha and try not to get hit. I like mine but I like meds with big alpha.

I'd actually say that it has the second best tier 8 medium gun, with the Obj. 416 taking first place. Best in class dpm, second to best alpha, and good handling. Of course that's on the worst in class platform ;)

I don't have it but my impression of it now after the buffs is that its a T34-3 without armor or pref mm. Translated, I think its more workable then it used to be. Its the only other premium medium with a super punchy gun. Basically it cut down the amount of weakness this tank had. The T34-3's main weakness is gun handling. The M4A1's main weakness now is its armor. The M4A1 used to have poor gun handling, poor speed and poor armor. It was just too weak in too many areas. Now armor is its basically its only weakness. I still don't think I'll ever buy the M4A1 but with the buffs it's at least something I might consider where as before I would never have given it a second thought. If they were to buff the gun mantlet armor on this at least a little that would likely sway me toward this.

This tank is fun to play, but has some glaring issues that make it non-competitive with more current premium tank offerings.

I think it could use a pen buff on both it's normal and premium rounds. Otherwise it decent, great for bullying lower tiers with weaker armor but terrible when put into a match with T10's where it's penetration ranges make it ineffective. Nice thing now is you can flank much more effectively than before this last pass of buffs.

It's a lot easier to work with. But I still wish the standard round was normal AP instead of APCR, because of its tendency to bounce off even mild angles. I dont wanna give up the velocity tho !!

This. The 200 APCR pen is great when in tier 8 battles but if you are on say Prok against 10s and sniping at people across the map, good luck penning. The 200 APCR loses pen so fast that you just bounce off even flush sides of tier 10 mediums and so forth. The HEAT still works but it is still HEAT so liable to get ate up by the tracks or any number of things when shooting at side armor that distance.

I play mine like a hellcat and now chics dig me. I will purposely platoon into tier 10 matches as this tank when played correctly can hold its own.

Played a few games with it today's after I just bought it so first 5 games terrible MM with winrate at 2600, lots of damage but all loses. If you work ridges and pop shots off , it's a monster, but when ur team dies, and you're alone, you have no armor to even brawl.

I love this tank. I use it much like I did the Centurion mk7/1. Both are hard hitting mediums with longer reloads so I try to keep a little distance from the enemies as I can yet still keep my gun in play and doing damage. You need to relocate often and watch your mini map. If it's a city map I try to support the heavies or brawlers.

Over the buffs have have made it a great tier 8 premium with the sexiest muzzle break in the game :)
