The KV-2 is never not fun. Being a bottom-tier heavy usually sucks, but not in the KV-2. You can damage anything you see on the battlefield. Plus when you're high-tier, you can one-shot just about any other tank.

A rammer is a must, and you have to learn the limitations of the tank so you don't get stuck in a useless position or exposed. Always stay near other tanks that can cover you while you reload.

Oh, and the Hand of Stalin is real. I've made more ridiculous shots in my KV-2 than any other tank.

Up close shotgun to the face the O-I tends to come out the winner (beaten up of course) but still able to continue the derping. The KV has thinner hips so it has a slight edge that way.

I would suggest you keep both as WOT always plays the nerf/buff game and at least you will have both bets covered.

I can avoid arty in the KV2. I find it really difficult to avoid arty in the OI.

So my vote is for the KV2. Smaller target. Easier to hide. Not everybody loads gold when you show up.

KV-2. There is no other option. O-I is for trash who don't know how to maneuver their tank and just rely on armor. Just use KV-2. You will see why.

As others have written, there are pluses and minuses to both, and it really comes down to personal preference. Nevertheless, you will never feel helpless in the KV2, and you might feel helpless on occasion in the O-I.

I prefer the kv2. Sometimes you need to duck behind a corner to avoid a threat. Not possible in an OI which IS 4 corners!

I have both and I can say with confidence that the KV-2 is the way to go. The O-I has superior armor, but the Stalin factor is just too strong.

There is a sweet little tank in tier 5 that gives you a god complex when you see lights or mediums...its called a kv1 with the derpalerpa.  9~11 seconds reload and good armor for its tier

Was god tier before they nerfed the gold derp.

Agree with Painbringer. In the KV-1 with the derp, all you have to do is pen 3 HEAT shots, and you got like 1000 damage. That's pretty good for tier 5.

...I hate to say this, but the O-I is better, because WG was high or whatever. The O-I's 10 cm gun is pretty damn good, and it's 150 cm gun is stupidly OP. While it does have a long reload, terrible accuracy and aim time, it has fairly good AP shells (120mm), which aren't great by any means, but can penetrate most tier 6 armor, and leave whoever it hit either dead or a one-shot kill. Combine this with VERY strong turret and frontal/rear armor (plus most of its allies won't be stupid enough to let it get outflanked) means it's stupidly OP.

In any match with arty, Japanese heavies are pinatas for the arty. Arty will totally focus-fire on any Japanese heavy, Japanese heavies are an arty shield for the rest of the team.

Actually, the mantlet is surprisingly strong, so it gets some bounces.

In higher tier battles, KV2 perform better than O-I. On tier 6 battles, O-I is unstopabble, while KV2 is an easy kill if chased after shot. Even if KV2 is the only heavy top tier, there will be many tanks with better armor to lead the charge (M4 Jumbo, britsh tank destroyers, Pudel, even Matilda)

I have both.  I love the KV-2.  She's so ugly she's beautiful!

:great:
