I just had my account suspended for team damage. The team damage was unintentional and I feel that the suspension was unfair.

In a match on the Sand River map, I got stuck in a dip in the terrain. A friendly tank came to try and push me out. Unfortunately, he got stuck underneath me, and took damage because I was crushing him.

If necessary, I can provide the relevant replay (I tried to attach it to this post, but the file was too large), which will prove that the team damage was unintentional.

The best thing you can do is send in a ticket with the replay and explain what happened. However, it is unlikely that they will remove the ban on your account.

However, providing this is your first ban for team damage, the ban should only be for an hour, so it might not even be worth sending in a ticket. Just go outside and take a walk or watch YouTube or something until the ban ends.

its an automated system, you can appeal with a support ticket, but generally wont be resolved until the 24hr timer is up. Sucks when this happens...

But it might get the ban removed... that way, if ti happens again, it will not be the longer 2nd lock.

Thanks for all the replies. Not sure what you guys mean by "send in a ticket," though.

I thought they don't take action when the ban comes from the automated team-damage server programming...?  They say it's working properly, has been extensively tested, etc., and I don't think they want to devote time to tickets stemming from it.

I got the one-hour ban last night, and could not think of what caused it....

There is a link on the top of the page, towards the left side that says "Support". Click on that and then click on the "My Tickets" header on the right side just below the top of the page. Then click submit ticket and follow the prompts.

Doing this will send in a ticket to Customer Support, where they may be able to remove the ban on your account.

Great. That's done, and I'm waiting for the response now. Thanks for the help.

So tell me, as I am interested.

Has this ' automated team DMG system '

changed with its punishment?

Does it ( suspension with time ) go up step by step now?

( as it turns out I have no experience with the ' punishments ' to that point )

No problem. I hope you are able to have the ban removed from your account quickly.

Be warned though that WG support is swamped from tickets from the holidays when they were understaffed because of people going home for the holidays, so getting a response to this ticket may take a while.

Yes, the punishments go up. First is 1 hour, second is 1 day, third is 3 days, then a week, then permaban, if I remember correctly.

Take this all with a grain of salt though, as I don't have any experience with getting banned by the system either. It is merely what I have heard and read.

Oh my.

Doesn't sound very healthy.

( no E-25 no life )

This sounds almost like what they have here at the forums,

missing one month suspension before perma-bans however.

Ah well, I just have to keep my trigger finger under control,

even when it is bit ' tense ' to say.

No suspensions to me however, as it turns out, I am relatively used to trolls.

My thanks, for letting me know about this however.

If you get any response at all to the ticket, it will be that they don't deal with it.  That's as far as I know:

Here is a quote from a similar, earlier situation like yours:  "We have an automated system in place for violation tracking (i.e. team damage, team killing), as such all mentioned offenses will be addressed by the automation only. The system has been customized, tested extensively and is currently working as intended. No player is immune, nor do any players receive preferential treatment from the automation. Even those of us here in the office receive account sanctions from the automated system when our shells go astray.

Unfortunately, you will have to wait out your suspension. We deeply apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused."

I am not saying the system is perfect, but your ticket isn't going to go anywhere but the trash can, to put it bluntly.  :mellow:

I just had the same issue.  Some jerk shot me at base.  I shot him back, but didn't kill him.  Then a third guy shot the jerk .... for bein a jerk.  Then I got banned.  This is a screwed up system.  I put in a ticket, but I don't record my games.

Now they want me to rate their customer service, and they haven't even looked at my ticket. What the hell?

~~~You don't post about bans on the forums, send in a ticket~~~
This has been a PSA.
LOL, from reading this system deeper, I got a longer ban for using my autoloader on the T 71 to shoot back.  So each shot must be a violation.  What a system.
It's a bit like a scab, don't pick at it.  Every time you update your ticket it falls to the bottom of the queue, so just be patient and wait for them to respond.
