So the rules have been posted and it seems like it's just an extension of the campaign now with no tank locking, the "same tier as the front" format and now gold instead of a tank as a reward.

 

Guess there goes the 53/55 for arty play now. 

 

What does everyone else think of the rules?

Looks like we dont get M53/55s in CW anymore.

 

Tank locking forces strategic evolution when you dont have the tanks you want, guess we're done with that too.

Looks exactly like a campaign with the no cost bidding, 0 division up keep cost, no tank locking, time zone shifting and vehicle tier limited to front tier...

 

Can we just make the M53/55 the tier 10 like it should be? Put T92 in tier 9 :)

 

In any case... I hope this season doesn't kill clams like campaigns usually do with the number of potential battles that could occur in one day.

Who the [edited]thought no tank locking was a good idea? With no tank locking clans can just chip spam and not worry about losing tanks and not being able to field teams. This must be a meme. Also lol that WG has to lock the fronts to be tier specific solely because they made the M53/55 the most broken artillery piece in the game.

Yep, except there will be 4 fronts this time... one more than usual. Guess it is back to farming as usual.

I've said it a couple of times already, tank locking is an artifact of the past, back when only 3 tanks were used for CW, incentives had to be put in place so that clans wouldn't use the same strat every night. Problem is, it came way too late for it to have any positive impact. Right now, all it does is make it ineffective for small and newer clans to play against bigger and more established clan as the loss of a full 15 tank is devastating for a small clan.

 

With all that being said, tank locking has a place in lower tiers. First it's incredibly easy to reach tier VI and not much harder for tier VIII. Considering that situation and how stale the meta is at those tier I think it would be advisable for tank locking to be present, but on the condition that it's harsher than it was.

 

The other solution is that every day a set of different tanks are "banned" from taking part in CW. It could even be tied with how much a tank saw use in the night before.

Did they move the times up an hour, or am I confused with campaigns? I could swear we had 20:00 PT battles.

Earliest battle start times are 1800EST meaning you have to have chips dropped by 1700EST to fight then. That's been the earliest time you could chip since back in 1.0.

 

And dear lord the size of the T6 map. It's by far the largest one.

Couple quick hitters:

 

WHAT. THE. %)@*(%&)@#$ is tier 6 STILL a thing, while EVEN on the EU AND RU its freaking GONE?!?!?!?

Still ZERO incentive to move up to tier 10 CW. The NA server should be, at WORST, Tier 10 sandbox and Tier 10 CW. Leave tier 6 and 8 to freaking SHs
Why the hell do you need 150 battles for 1200 gold (mission)? Thats seriously like, 6 months worth of normal CW battles. THIS ISNT A FREAKING CAMPAIGN
For Dads and West-Coast: Why the hell is there CW at 6pm EST, and NO cw at 11pm EST????? For the love of God, thats 3pm WEST coast, and the last CW starts at 7pm PST. Like, do you hate Dads, West Coast, anyone with a job? I live in the EST. I get home a half hour before CW starts at 6pm so cant play. Kid goes to bed at 7:30pm, and would like to spend time w/ the wifey so that kills 8pm and sometimes 9pm EST CW. And, since I do Silver that kills 10pm EST at least 3 nights a week. These time zones are retarded. 

 

Oh, and killed the ability to use the M53/55 in CW as well... nice job killing off the 2nd most used CW arty

 

yay, no tank locking. The one good [edited]thing we got for this season. Great

Last time zone used to be 2300EST for west coast if I remember rightly. had to have chips down by 2200.

 

I concur there Marine. I wasn't aware that RU/EU did away with any of the lower tiers...

Edit.....Just looked at their rules. EU/RU did away with T6 CW's. They just have 8 and 10 "light" and 10. Gold payouts are the same for task's as well so would assume the province payouts are the same as well as the NA's.

 

I am with Marine on this. I thought that policies were supposed to be the same across SERVERs. Why is the NA able to do this? Is that the only area they are able to make change?

If it hadn't been a long time ago your applicaiton for full dad status would now be approved.    The TZs make no sense at all and haven't seen they changed them to entice more Brazilian clans to be involved in CW.  They still need to logically split these servers between NA and SA and set timezones that are appropriate to EST/PST and whatever TZs would best fit South American players.  

 

Tank locking was annoying at TX.  There's enough variety now in tank selections at TX that it wasn't necessary.  It was already a non-factor in T6 where most useable tanks were unlocked after one full 24hr period.  They had also never bothered updating it to the game meta.  Locking one type of tank longer than another at any tier made no sense at all and hadn't since the Batchat was added to TX.


The restriction on tier is also pretty shortsighted.  There are plenty of T9 tanks that worked in TX for people who had new accounts (ST-I, T-10, T9 bat, etc.) and we've used both the 53/55 regularly and the Lorry 55 (speed w/o the autoloader) on rarer occasions not to mention mostly failed attempts to utilze a LT like the RU in a role that isn't available even with the BC.  If they follow through with TX LTs maybe it doesn't matter but its still silly to remove a bunch of tanks from consideration.  I know strategy in CW is probably at a lowpoint right now even with the larger variety of TX tanks available but this isn't going to help.

 

It also doesn't even bring up historical points like when REL_whatever used E25s to beat 1080Ps turtle.  

 

TL:DR Bring Back CW 1.0.   Thanks.

The time zone change is disappointing

3:00pm to 8:00pm PST just does not cut it

It's 3 to 7 pst. 8 was when I could get the most players. West coasters that work are going to be hard pressed to participate.
