Twitter locks McConnell campaign out of their own account for posting video of threats made against the senator by protestors outside his home:

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2019/08/10/twitters_ban_of_mcconnell_shows_techs_censorship_power.html

Not a fan of McConnell (or the non-Constitutional power afforded to any Senator majority leader), but first, protestors shouldn't be outside his private home; second, no one should be making violent threats in that manner; and third, Twitter seems to have kinda stepped in it here.

BTW, if you see me on WOWS and I don't respond, I promise I'm not intentionally ignoring you, I might have wandered off due to cat distraction, or be reading something in another tab, or etc.

Man, the Twitter bots are really pushing "Bill and Killary killed Epstein" theory today.

The list of people who were some variation of "friends" with Epstein is long and recognizable and sad.

Nah.  He committed suicide.  The two bullet entry points on the back of his head are emblematic of suicide in prison.

Just make sure he knows that if he makes it to court some very unpleasant things may happen to his family, give him a rope and tell the guards to go for a walk and think about what they're going to do with their hush money.

Twitter stepped in it for sure, should have just taken the post down.  However, the rules regarding threats being posted are there for good reason and should be follow by everyone, including Senators.

Unrelated, this is gruesome:

Not sure if this is true for US Netflix, but a UK/Polish-made film about Polish fighter pilots in the Battle of Britain has shown up for me on (Canadian) Netflix. It was released in the UK as Hurricane but the North American title is Mission of Honor.  (Mind you, it has... 5.9/10 on imdb? eek)

Ever end your day at work so mad that it feels like it would be a bad idea to get in your car and drive while still that mad?

I leave work on a semi-regular basis angry enough that I'm glad I don't drive and have to take a bus. I do wish I could drive and had a car, it would be nice to get away on the weekend just so I can try and forget how much I hate my life.

On the Twitter issue, the person who posted it (or rather his organization) was the person the threats were directed against, right?  If someone threatens your life, you should be banned from posting about it?

On the deportation story... no one is doing more damage to the cause of controlling our borders, than Donald Trump, and those who follow him.  The lack of due process and lack of sound judgment is playing right into the hands of those who want to do away with borders entirely.

Gotta let this out somewhere.

They say everyone has their scars, but sometimes you hear a song, just randomly, on the radio, that feels more like an open wound.

Sorry, we now return you to your regular tanks and griping.

They could have posted about it without posting the video.  Just have a blurb about it and link to Fox I'm sure they did a story on it, or was that what they did? I thought they posted it outright.

To the extent that that's anyone's goal it's that of a small minority on the fringe. Open borders is not going to catch on.

Got the tier 9 British light all kitted out. I will not surprise you by telling you it is amazing. It's not. It is a bit of a challenge. I wish the reload was shorter on the gun as actually sniping with the gun from cover is pretty fun.

This was a pretty good game on Steppes in which our east side was overwhelmed but a Leopard and I managed to fall back and snipe from cover, and eventually we turned the battle around.

Thus the majority of candidates in the Democrat's 2020 field raising their hands when asked if they'd decriminalize illegal border entry and presence in the US by foreign nationals?

Thus the writer from Salon on NPR's On The Media this evening trying to equate any and all forms of immigration restriction with xenophobia, hate, and bigotry?

Decriminalizing would leave it as a civil infraction, not the same as open borders.

I'd have to see/hear it, is that from the podcast released on the 9th?

"Here's your $100 ticket for being in the country without a license...",  yeah, that's the same as open borders.

It does appear to be the one released on the 9th.

As somebody with muscle spams and tendinitis in my lower back I can say this much. It is miserable when your back acts up. Oddly enough I find laying down on a hard flat surface, like a floor, is about the only way I can get comfortable sometimes when my back acts up.

Given that the US had open immigration until the early 20th century I don't necessarily have a problem with the idea. My family probably go into this country through Ellis Island because they didn't have quotas yet. I don't necessarily have problems with limited immigration either just so long as the process isn't stupidly convoluted and confusing like it is now. Whatever approach we take it should be rational, straight forward, and not subject to abuse or political whim. I haven't seen any proposal that meets that criteria yet.

To say I'm disgusted by the wanton abuse and inhumane treatment being inflicted on people in the name of political whim would be an understatement.

Yup, it eventually got so bad I could hardly move, I ended up calling an ambulance to go the hospital to get checked out. The paramedics gave me Methoxyflurane (aka, 'The Green Whistle' ) so I could stand up long enough to get into the ambulance... I was high as a kite.

Hospital check up indicated it is just muscle/tendon sprains fortunately, no indication of anything more serious; doctor thinks most of the pain will go away in a few days.

They gave me an anti-inflammatory and some hefty painkillers, which is enough to let me hobble around, so now I'm back home. Hopefully it'll clear up as the doctor expects.

Yeah, I've been having back pains for a long while (this is just the worst it's ever been, by a long shot), and it varies a lot on what helps. Sitting up, lying down, hard/firm surfaces, soft surfaces, etc.

Now me, I would say my main problem with the illegal immigration problem isn't that they're here so much as it is "we don't have documentation on who came here".  I for one would like to have some idea of who exactly is moving into the country.
