Because the map with the Sturmtiger hidden on it was removed, and as far as I know, it hasn't been snuck back in anywhere yet.

(Reworked Severogorsk was even decent, they got rid of a lot of maps that were of interest.)

Severogosk was pretty good. I still miss Northwest and Pearl River... Sacred Valley too. And the one map at the foot of Mt. Fuji... (not that having a quarter of the map completely impassable was good, but it was cool looking).

EDIT: I miss Swamp too. It wasnt terrible in its final form, just required you to know how to play on it.

I miss South Coast. I don't remember if it was unbalanced, I guess it was, but I liked the general layout and the theme.

And yet they brought back Province.

(TBH I didn't like Severogorsk)

Some good, some bad.

It would be great if American corporations ditched the idiocy that shareholder value is king, and started regarding their employees and customers as stakeholders again.  But trying to force corporations -- by law or coercion -- to act as arms of someone's pet social engineering project or "social justice action" is garbage.

In gaming related news it seems that Epic is requiring exclusivity for new releases on their game store specifically because there is no compelling reason for a customer to choose to buy a game from Epic's game store over one of the other options..

Oh EA/Respawn. You had something good going on and you decide to throw all that goodwill away.

Almost as if the EGS has zero benefits over other platforms like GOG or Steam

EGS is a massive failure as far as I'm concerned -- fails in all ways to bring strong customer-side competitive pressure on Steam.

As for EA, no shock, we've know the people inside EA thought that way about fans for a long time, see their attitude towards the backlash when ME3 turned out to be a massive letdown.

I wouldn't have to come to that exact conclusion, but I will say that I'm skeptical as all hell of this newfound, supposed "altruism".

Sometimes gaming communities can get infested with total [edited], so I get that on the one hand.  On the other hand letting loose on them as a dev ruins it for everybody else.

The "shareholder profit is the only valid goal" mindset has been very bad for a lot of companies too, it's not just altruism that will eventually result in pushback.

Now let's just hope it stays as a Steam game doesn't migrate to a certain other launcher as an "exclusive".
