Even they're tired of fighting for oil!

Also, AZ's McSally has a primary challenger that wants to annex Mexico.

That would have been a great idea... about 170 years ago.

Maybe he thinks that if we annex Mexico, then there will be no more illegal Mexican immigrants. Illegal immigration solved. *mic drop*

Its actually all part of a 200 iq play to shrink the size of the boarder wall to just 871km and save money.

Imagine the IQ needed to realize that if we just annex our way down to Panama, we would have a giant moat to keep illegals out.

In other news, Colt is halting production of the AR-15 for civilian use.

Appears to be market forces, nothing to do with "ermagerd evil rifles" handwringing.

Military and law enforcement eat up Colt's capacity, and there are other manufactures also supplying the civilian market with clones.

An open source version of the AR-15 exists, see FOSSCAD.

Last week's reading:

https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0674987640/ref=nosim/librarythin06-20

https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1603444246/ref=nosim/librarythin06-20

The first is the sort of book that gives international relations/political science a bad name in that if you've been following the story over time it's not telling you too much new.

The second satisfied my curiosity about what the war was like for the U.S. Army's glider infantry. I also get a vibe from the "author" (this was basically a dictated memoir) that while the 327th Glider Infantry may now be celebrated as the "Bastogne Bulldogs" it might also have suffered from more than its share of Regular Army chicken-$#!+; the author was certainly not impressed with the level of leadership that his regiment's chain of command provided.

So this could get messy...

It'll get messy, but it won't "ensnare" Trump.  He wasn't lying when he said he could kill a person* on fifth avenue and get away with it.  The republicans have hitched their train so tightly to the Trump locomotive that they won't be able to disconnect even if they wanted to.  For better or worse, Trump IS the republican party now, and until he's out of office they will protect him with the singleminded fury of a Grizzly bear protecting its cub.

I'm curious, what's the cliffnotes version on why the first book gives IR/polisci a bad name? Debating if it's my speed, got a long flight coming up.

Weeeeeell I'm just a Canadian but I don't think that's legal :)

Well, does it break any laws, anyway?

Who cares if it's legal?  The republicans will make it legal.  Like I said earlier, they've hitched onto the Trump train and they're still deluding themselves into thinking this is a good thing.  The only thing this will do is cause the republicans to circle the wagon even harder.  It would literally take Donald Trump murdering the Senate Majority Leader's granddaughter on live television for the repubs to maybe start thinking they should abandon him as a lost cause.  And even then, it wouldn't be a sure thing.

Anything is legal when your party does what ever you say and the other party refuses to hold you or your cronies in contempt.
