At least there are some in Blizzard that still have some integrity.

I saw Hearthstone's lead game director said the punishment was too harsh as well, but stopped short of saying they should unban him.

Go Jim.

The long-hair "Brack" really is a piece of work.

Pretty sad how low Brack has fallen, considering he's worked on great games like Star Wars Galaxies, Wing Commander and the first couple of amazing WoW expansions.

Also, speaking of Hong Kong and protests in general

So, is Giuliani really this dumb, or is this a 4D chess move to secretly make sure the Trump boat sinks in flames?

Keep in mind that in his prime he was a prosecutor...not a defense lawyer...totally different mentalities. I'd also argue that it's easy to be a "good" prosecutor when you have the power of the state at your back.

One book last week:

https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0300209401/ref=nosim/librarythin06-20

I enjoyed it and found the essays dealing with high-ranking ministers such as North, Germaine and Sandwich to be the most informative (having read about George III and most of the flag-grade officers in the past).

Trump allies have received massive paychecks "consulting" in the health care industry, with massive contracts funneled to their companies.

"Drain the swamp"...  :sceptic:

Since you say he has worked on all those great games, I would give him the benefit of the doubt and say Activision may be pulling some strings.

But considering Jeff Kaplan, the Vice President, can openly say what he did, it makes it very hard to believe Brack was being told by Activision to act the way he did.

Also:

This new design is soooooooooooo much better.... I want to see this in cinemas because the director listened and they should be rewarded for doing so.

Ya I dunno, people change over time.  Could now be Shilly McShillbot.

That does look much better, although I would contend that Jim Carrey as Robotnik is still the biggest draw for me.

Google being able access patients health records, names, and addresses without notifying them doesn't sound horrifying at all, after all large tech firms have been so careful with users data in the past :D

I have no idea how that could actually comply with HIPAA, and if it does, HIPAA needs to be updated to keep it from happening.

But then, I've long since hit the point with personal data where I think it should be a federal go-to-prison felony for companies or other organizations to store, buy, sell, share, trade, etc personal data without the person's permission -- from tracking online activity to financial transactions to health data to names, phone numbers, addresses, email, etc.

What I mean is, every time they want to do any of those things with your info with a new third party, they need your permission AGAIN.

I wish there wasn't a looming sense of "what the hell are they DOING?"

Hey everyone!
I've gotta teach a welding class a science lesson on Thursday, and I've been hunting around for a couple of photos that appeared YEARS ago on an earlier incarnation of this thread that I can't find anymore. They were pictures of T-44's used as test firing targets... only it looks like they got hit by nuclear bombs because apparently all the structural welds holding the tank together failed immediately after they were hit. Anybody remember those?

I'd certainly rather do ships right now than tanks...particularly since I've needed to do some old-fashioned credit grinding to buy a range of high-tier vessels! Just unlocked Hindenburg, in striking distance of Worcester & Le Fantasque and have had Izumo, Ibuki, Alsace & Charles Martel unlocked for awhile now.

T-44s or Panthers?  As far as I can remember, I've never seen T-44 test targets, but I have seen Panthers where they just kinda fell apart after being hit.

Edit:  Then again, I seem to remember the Panthers that fell apart tended to do so in the middle of the plate due to excess brittleness of the armor...

Speaking of data privacy.

I wonder if the system they're working on would include a "store nothing, share nothing, buy nothing, sell nothing" right when it comes to our personal data -- or if it would presume that everyone will take part no matter what.

There was also something I saw recently on twitter about the Facebook app using your camera while you are scrolling through your feed.  (iOS only, iOS 13+)

FB claims it's a bug... but I think I've read about the use of cameras to track eye motions e.g. what you are looking at.

The only "bug" is the fact that Facebook was caught doing it.

I would presume that it would be possible to have the software auto-delete personal data stored temporarily in these secure zones, so maybe?  The rest just would be enough people making enough noise to make that an option as well, I think.
